NEMOC Random BS Thread

a coworker is thinking about picking up a used mazdaspeed3 or mazdaspeed6....anyone know of a good deal on one thats in good shape? He is not and will not become the "tuner" type so the less modified, more basic the example the better....

I got pulled over coming up I-91 on my way home from work this morning at about 4am. (In my truck).

Cop was cool as hell. We were joking back and forth a lot about my truck vs his SUV (stupid unmarked SUVs lol).

Ended up letting me slide on the speeding and gave me a ticket for not having my front plate on so, in his words, "It won't #$^@ up your insurance."

As he started to walk away I asked him how fast he clocked me. He said, "Do you really want to know?". I said, "Ummmm.....errrr.....maybe?". He laughed and said 91mph. (drive2)

I'm gladly paying the $117.

Mine?

Thanks for the birthday wishes all.

Don't know that I found what was causing the noise, but it's gone now. Flexed the dust shield a little bit, took the wheel off, refit the hub ring, torqued the wheel back on with a torque wrench, took it for a drive and just like magic, the sound was gone!

Although I did find something scary going on. 1 lug nut on each rear wheel was barely finger tight, even though I *know* I torqued each one down when I put the wheels on in the first place..... ghosts at work or something else?

Always check your lug nuts after you put the wheels back on and after you go for a drive or 20+ miles.

When I first put the wheels on, I did just that.
Put them on, torqued em up, went on a drive around town, then re-torqued the lugs (that's when I first put the wheels back on).
Maybe they loosened up some more afterwards? (well obviously), but it's all good now, I'll check em again after I run my errands tomorrow.

Chris: I'm down for wings tomorrow

******* retard... I've been barracuda fishing and there are a few things I'd like to mention on the subject... (Since I am from FL...)

1. Barracuda are not good to eat. Personal experience is sufficient on this.
2. They go after shiny objects in the water... Again, personal experience.
3. If you are ever diving/snorkeling and see them going into an "S" stance, look out because they are about ready to strike. Personal experience for a third time.

Whenever we decided to fish for Barracuda, we carried a bat or something similar to take care of over sized Barracuda like this. I have personally landed a couple of these fish over the 5 ft mark! They are attracted to shiny objects and I've seen some home engineered rigs that have worked.

I highly suggest never eating Barracuda meat because they are high in Mercury and a few other heavy metals. This is why you don't see them on the market to buy or on menus at restaurants.

Just a heads up from someone who has lived in FL and has caught, eaten (unfortunately), and dealt with this kind of fish.

All y'all!

I've been out a bunch, busy busy busy. But going to Epping, NH with some coworkers on July 7th to drag the Miata, just for fun... no crazy launches though. If anyone is interested, feel free to join us. $20 for a bunch of runs.

The Miata developed a clunk in front right, maybe a blown stock shock? Or a worn-out swaybar bushing? Haven't tried disconnecting the sway bar yet.

190K on the p5:

Also giving away for free my Logitech GT Force wheel, anyone want it?
