NEMOC Random BS Thread

Yeah that's what I thought it was (waiting for Mr. Weather Gary to jump in...). It's just that this is the first one of the season.

Exactly. We can write off a good deal of it as "investment property expenses" and even if we lose money on it, we can claim investment losses. I am going to have someone who knows more about taxes help me out in that department. But anyway, we are underwater on the mortgage so attempting to sell it would mean coming up with about 50 grand in cash.

ya, and my son has the cash, but does it make sense to throw that at the bank to pay off the loan or invest it (in another property) and wait for the market to come back a little?

Isn't a nor'easter just a cold air hurricane/cyclone?

lol Jenn. Sean's half-right. They're both low pressure systems (the hurricane being a "warm-air" system and the nor'easter being a "cold-air" system). They're "engines" are completely different though...like pistons vs rotary! In a nutshell: the hurricane needs warm air and only warm air...the warmer the better. The nor'easter needs a temperature difference...the higher the temperature difference the stronger the storm. This is why when a nor'easter hits us it's usually pretty warm before it hits and then gets bone-chilling cold after it passes. If anyone ever has any specific weather questions just shoot me a PM :)

In other news, playing in my first hockey game in four years tonight!

I'm also shopping for winter tires/wheels for my truck!

Good Luck!!!!

Firestone Desintation A/T. I am putting them on my 4runner when I need tires. My dad put them on his tundra and loved them last winter.

Well, the market is bound to turn around sometime. If it isn't at rock-bottom now, it's pretty damn close. 3-5 years from now I think we'll be in a better position to sell. So rather than pay the bank, I think it's best to just hold out until the market turns. In a few years we should at the very least be able to refinance to break-even with rent vs mortgage.

somehow I over torques my last lug and broke my wheel lock key ><. hopefully the people at Mazda will be cool and can just pull the lugs off for me this weekend

We aren't officially moving out of the condo until mid-december. The misses wants the stuff gone now though. I can delay for a month if you definitely want the stuff.
