NEMOC Random BS Thread

^^^lol

Ok, so after my trip to the dealer yesterday I've come to the conclusion that it's time to bite the bullet and buy a torque wrench. I'm looking at two Craftsman and thinking the 44595 would be better since it's longer and a 1/2 drive....thoughts/opinions?

Jeff, go with 44595.

And without getting eaten alive by mosquitos.

Mmmm glazed donuts.... Nom nom.

You just made me think of Krispy Kreme's when the "HOT NOW" light is lit.....

1/2" drive ftw.

Okie doke....will be adding it to the tool box and soon along with a 21mm socket.

My reason for buying one....(this happened yesterday) DOH!

Drove to the dealer to get a 'noise' coming from the PS front wheel area checked out. Noticed it Sunday and it almost sounded like a bearing yet didn't.... Ends up I improperly torqued that wheel over the weekend after painting the calipers. Didn't even think to jack the car back up as all lugs seemed ok (with car on the ground) and there was no shake/shimmy/vibrations in the steering wheel at all....

To be honest I've never used a torque wrench on the P5 when swapping summer/winter tires and never had this issue.....so I'm thinking that it might be time to bite the bullet and buy a proper torque wrench.

Forgot to mention that while I was waiting I went in to see my salesman and he hooked me up with three car flags. :)

After so many wheel swaps in life, you become accustomed to how much torque is needed. I always just use the 4-way now. Call me crazy. (braindead

Nice pick up on the flags. The ones you hook on the window?

Haha I just picked up a torque wrench this past weekend... and a low profile jack and 4 jack stands... and a bunch of random sockets.

ah yes.. the hot now light.. the bat signal for fat kids.

lmao....if there was a Krispy Kreme local....I'm sure I'd have a few more pounds on my frame.

I currently use the 4-way and all was good until now. Specs for the 3 are pretty much the same for the P5 so not sure where I went wrong. Or maybe the car was pissed at me for leaving her in the driveway overnight on stands? You know how these ladies can be tempermental.

Yes, they are the window flags. I have one in the office and my son wanted one in his room. The third is in my garage. :)

I pried gnate from the clutches of TMF and told him to join up for some info on Lime Rock this weekend. Let's see if he will introduce himself!

What kind and where'd you get it from? I'm looking to do the same thing...

I used the Loctice brand epoxy, I don't remember which version, but I think it was just a standard one, not one that is meant for metal or something specific like that. But I do remember it was 2500psi.

he posted in the lime rock thread.

In terms of heat I just carried three servers about a half mile. My shirt was so wet when I got back that my boss asked if I had jumped in a fountain (notcool)

Yup I was thinking of that stuff too, if this one fails I will probably do that. I have been running since October like this and so far so good.

Thats what i ran in my 'other' built car... which withstood quite the amount of abuse.. including a 6 puck unsprung race clutch and drag race rated pressure plate, 2 step rev limit, launch control, etc...
