Need some tinting advice

Bought a yellow 2003 protege5 last night . I definitely want to do some tinting, i'd like to hear ppl's comments on what tinting levels they think look best on a protege, especially (but not exclusively) a yellow one. Thanks!

i like 20% it's dark enough to look great, but it doesn't affect your night vision too much.

Tint was the first thing I got done for mine. The way I have it is 32% on the front four windows, 22% for the rear set, including the fifth door. For the sunroof, I have a mirror-like tint used for house windows and lets little heat in.

The sun was already on its way down by the time I got out there to take some shots, so I tried some with and without a flash.

well as you can see in my sig I have a yellow P5...and I have it tinted too....was the first mod I did.

a few things to keep in mind when you are getting your windows tinted....

1. its going to help keep your car cooler.

2. the tint WILL effect your night time vision.

What I would suggest is to FIRST find a reputable shop that comes from recommendations from OTHER satisfied customers.

See if they have a car, maybe one of their own, that is tinted as dark as the law allows in your area....and see if you can check it out AFTER DARK....ensure that YOU will feel comfortable and KNOW that you can see well enough at night with your windows tinted that dark....

THEN....if the answer to the above is YES I CAN....then get your windows tinted as dark as the law allows.

Personally...I just can't see going darker as it just invites the authorities to come knocking on your window.

I loke the idea of using mirror for the sunroof...

I'll be taking my car in for tinting tonight or tomorrow morning and I was planning to get 35% all around... but now I'll get the mirror for the sunroof, definitely...

On one of my prior cars I had the limo(5%) tint all around and it was fun... noone could look inside even from very close distance... the night vision was effected but who cared, it looked cool, especially on a black car... the only problem was... the f'n cops didn't like it and I got ticketed a few times...

Yeah, I had a great experience with tinting. The guys did it quickly and for only $140. I got 35% all the way around. It's legal, but you can still see into the car. Not as easily, but I wish I got it a little darker. But it all depends on what your state's legal limits are (which are on a million websites, just do a search) and if you want to break those.
