Mazda...uh, something
After a trip down to VA in a friend's car listening to his techno i find myself liking it more and more...I have no idea about this genre though, and searching on WinMX brings up TONS of s*** that I have no idea what it is.

One of my favorite songs is Name of the Game by Crystal Method. I also like that one they played in the preview for Tomb Raider 2, but i dont know the name of it.
SOOoo Im looking for some suggestions for comparable songs. I'd also like to know of some songs with little to no words in them for playing at shows or whatever.

thanks in advance. :D

try visiting digitallyimported.com and listen to all their stations...

they also list what group and song is playing..

i highly reccomend this site... every time im at a computer i have DI playing

IF you want some good stuff to just listen and chill with while driving, you cant beat drums and bass. Try LTJ Bukem, Linuxracr got me hooked on his music.

dj tiesto
dara
dieselboy
AK1200
crystal method
darude
saul v <-hard to find but its ******* awesome (he's a friend of mine)

paul oakenfold is good in a pinch, darude is good too, BT, ummmm 4 Strings..... thats all I can think of off the top of my head

depends on the non-techno music you like.

if you like hip-hop, odds are you'll like jungle.
so look for General Malice, dj K, Capital J, Kenny Ken
General Malice is more Ragga, like General Levy or such.. fast raggae, it's really good.

other genres are techno, house, trance, trip hop, ambient, etc...
you can look for Kid Koala, DJ Q-Bert, Amon Tobin, http://ninjatune.com , Paltikman, Mr. Scruff... lots more.

'techno' is a very generic term that's highly overused.. even the term 'electronica' that many people use is inaccurate to describe all the styles, seeing as electronica is a sub-style itself.. it's all "electronic music".

good point about non-"techno" music. I like rock...uh, i dont like straight rap, but something with more of a groove(R&B i guess you could say).

That crystal methos song is like the epitome of what I like. I like it if it is a "technoey" song that kinda of has a "verse, chorus, verse, chorous, bridge, chorus" structure instead of like i said before, the same thing over and over and over and over again...

i could list off a ton of s*** for you.

are you looking for harder stuff? trancier? maybe funkier?

you mentioned crystal method, so are you more interested in stuff that doesn't have a set 4 /4 beat (ie. its got more of a hiphop flavour to it)?

Sandstorm is the most played out song... EVAR... I started listening to that song before anyone knew about it and then it caught on and I got sick of it QUICK... it's good every once in a while tho.

one of my favorite tracks is Merge by Future Engineers.

dj tiane, dj tiesto, paul oakenfold is always a good choice, paul van dyk, dj dan, blank and jones, ferry corsten, cosmic gate... list is endless man. i suggest tiane for starters, cause his mixes are free and are all available online for download.

links can be found at either www.djtiane.com, or www.globalbeatz.net ,
globalbeatz actually has a lot of free music too. your gonna need to register at both, but its still 100% free. enjoy!
