Need some insight before engine build

Ok, I know there are lots of engine build threads out there...they are all long and full of stuff that doesn't really pertain....so here is the thing, I am preping for a forged build....I curently have crank and K-1 H beam rods (I have pistons but not sure what brand or quality so I won't be using them) Who all is running the H beam rods? what is a good piston to go with? I like CP pistons but can't seem to find them making one for our engine (I did recently email them about finding out if they do) I know wiesco are mentioned all over the place, those of you running wiesco, input please....to those running a forged engine, what head improvements did you guys (and gals) make? such as valve replacement? spring replacement? 3 angle valve job? cams? I want to keep the stock turbo and just up the boost, with that said i'm not going to spout of with "i'm looking for 350 HP daily driver" What I will say is I want to run 12-15 PSI boost with no worries of throwing a rod through the block....Yes I already have mods that will allow for 12-15 PSI or even more, Just still have paper mache rods and have already thrown rods running on 12 PSI....so currently i'm running 5 PSI so that I can keep this engine together and take my time on a forged job and do it right the first time so 6 months down the road i'm not back to square one.....Thank you for everyones input in advance, and I know there will be a lot of differant input, so please ppl don't bash eachother because of what set up your running verse what someone elses set up....This is info that I want for my engine build....Keep it clean guys HAHAHA

damn, I jsut relized I put this in the wrong thread group :( can a moderator move this to the engine sub group??

Weisco or cp will handle anything the stock turbo can put out. Runing 15 psi you will probly blow the turbo before the motor

My protege is stock, but with h beam rods and forged pistons the motor its self would be good to go. You can do head work but if you're just wanting a reliable daily i wouldn't say its necessary. But a refresh and maybe some dual valve springs and a light port job would be beneficial to power

I would go ahead with the h beams. Also look into doc b oil pump.

From what I've "read" the stock turbo is good for no more than 14 psi or it will superheat and destroy the bearingsi

I have been reading the same about the stock turbo....a turbo upgrade may be a future mod but 12 PSI pulls hard enough...and like I said i'm not looking to break records haha, just want it to be snapper than the stock rods can handle and reliability

like Tweety2300 stated. a built block can handle anything the stock turbo can produce. BUT its not just the amount of boost that snaps rods and blows engines. it comes down to having a good or decent tune. no point in spending ~$1500 for a built block just for it to go to poopy due to a bad tune. so if u have something to tune on great. if not i would highly suggest it. also having a decent port job would always be beneficial to help free up some more HP. and definitely look into something to improve the oil system in the FSDE. deep sump pan, better oil pump/upgrade. you can hit up Ryan with Signature Sound. they do some incredible work. they should be able to work with u if youre on budget or with suggestions of whats recommended for your build needs and wants

yes I have SSAFC to tune with so no problem there...I have all supporting mods to do a build like this IE: FMIC, BOV, MBC, Wideband, Boost gauge, SSAFC, upgraded intake (not sure what kind it is but it doesn't have the butterflies), I have 440 injectors but they aren't installed.....thanks for the oil pan suggestion, is Ryan a member here? signature sound a vendor I take it?
