that is assuming he can get the male and female ford connectors. I remember Wagner having lots of problems getting them new from Ford. If Beau has figured out how to get these pieces more power to him. I love the aem and after seeing it running a protege I know it's ability FAR exceeds anything else that is offered right now...the E6X comes close though.

i think he can, the problem of course is the price of the parts (probably what youre referring to).

yeah, I remember Nick saying he was going to scourge junk yards for spare ends!! Not a bad way to source some connectors!

I love the AEM but the haltech is awesome and it's availble right now and it's proven.

I think my ECU is acting up....I just got replacement block put in and it runs really rough at IDLE. After a little while of running it, it runs fine...

Not a fan of the Unichip at alll...good company dont get me wrong, but with the fickleness of our damn cars I want to be able to tune on the fly and not have to take the stupid thing to a dealer to have reprogammed. Haltech hands down is a great system, though I've only used it in relation to DSMs(very pricey though)....emanange is a complete waste of money, pain in the ass to setup and a pain in the ass to keep tuned properly(once again DSM experience only)...I've heard good and bad things about the MPI, but what I do like the most is the fact its a forum friend...that is you're not just another # you have somewhat of a face an arms reach away when you have technical questions. For me its a toss up...on one had i do really like the haltech, but on the other I'm a big believer in supporting "locals" who have an intimate tuning relationship with our cars...It all boils down to what you plan on doing with the motor and such...

I am not going to say anything about anyone else's product, but I have the Haltech E6x and it's an awesome product.

I got mine from Juan at Hi-Boost and Juan did my installation for me. The Halwin software is fantastci and tuning while very involved is still not too complicated for a newbie to figure out.

I have had some cold start issues (due to my larger injectors) but those are being worked out and I have no doubt that I will be able to work them out all the way as there are plenty of haltech cars with large injectors running without coldstart problems.

Overall it's a great set-up and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The Haltech sounds like the way to go, however, its a piggy-back system. I need to know if my current ECU is ok. Has anyone had the same problems I a having?

I think the emanage has run longer and better then all of the them
Not sure what better means. The most whp made as been with the MPI Tuner. More people use the MPI Tuner then any other system.

Proof is in the pudding. And guess what: 300 WHP, quarter time 12.9 and a trap speed of 115 MPH with 7 degrees of timing pulled on pump gas.

Has anyone beat that?

Until someone does, the MPI wins hands down in my book. Forget the fact that I have got 4 MPI powered Mazdaspeeds runing.

It's all part of a learning curve. I am sure noone learned how to use a computer in a week. Right ?

Focus, how much boost is that though running with the MPI? The Unichip numbers were only at 10-12psi because that's all the injectors were good for.

To date, I do not know of anyone with a Unichip who has re-tuned for bigger injectors and run more boost than what it comes set at. Correct me if someone has though.

17-18 psi.

so......18psi to 10psi.......8psi difference.......10hp per psi......80hp.......sounds about the same to wheels to me.
Ummm. You can't judge it that way. Higher boost, you have to pull timing. A lot of different factors come in to play.

How about this, reworked stock GT25 turbo, 14-15 psi max, MPI Tuner, C16 fuel, big maf = 328whp and 348 wheel torque.

If you want to get into those things you can't forget that Juan ran a 12.5 with the open differential in his P5 using the E6x.

Bottom line, the haltech and the MPI are both good units.

Exactly, when used right they both work excellent.
