hi there, i am new here and new to Mazda3.
This is my first car. So I have some questions.
1. Will the basic 3 years warranty cover the oil change and so on.
2. What need to pay more attention when in break in period.
3. After berak in, should i change the oil?
4. How long it will take to warm up?
5. When i go through high way around 100KM, i feel the car is not in straight direction, sometimes it goes right, sometimes it goes left, i have to hold the steering wheel tightly. Is some thing wrong?

Thanks for your help. have a good day.

Welcome to the forum. My I ask where you are from? Reason is the location may useful in answering your questions.

no
vary speed and rpm during break in.
no, change it at 8000km as recommended
warm up? on a cold day, 5 mins, on a hot day, seconds.
change tire pressure, and if it sways lots, bring it in for realignment. If it's only a little, there's nothing wrong with your car.

I'm in the states.

I am from Canada.

I can answer a few question but the warrenty info will be diffrent.
1. The oil changes aren't usually covered.
2. You should change the oil atleast every 3000 miles ( times 2.54 for Km's)
3. The only real issue during the break-in is not to stay at one speed to long i.e don't use you cruise for more that 5-10 KM's.
4. The car warms up pretty quickly in the winter, 5 min or so. Less in the summer
5. The car may pull (usually to the right) cause of the shape of the road (it's curved so the water runs off it.) If it continues to bother you retun to the dealer and ask the to check your alignment.

Hope this helped some. You may want to find a Canadian on the site in your area, (there are a lot of ppl here) They may offer more accurate info. Good luck.

Hey Tim! How's it going?

I think your conversion might be off.. you'll want to multiply the miles by 1.61 to get the km's. In this case the interval would be 3000 miles or 4830 km's. The manuals usually just round it up to 5000, anyways.

Not trying to be picky, just don't think this guy should go 7600 km's before he changes the oil (drinks)

have dealership check both your front rims...these damn alloys bend under lil pressure...

the oil change has to be done every 6000 kilometers, 8000 is puching it dood and about the car going to one side, hey it should be normal but maybe your alignement might already be out of place, hapened to me 2 weeks after I got my car. If nothing is the problem it's normal, if you have the 17" rims, keep in mind the tires from Good Year are a piece of s***

u r right

UR right I was doing lbs to kgs. oops. I do that one all day, what a dumb ass! If the whole damm world went metric I would be much better. I even had 1.64 on there and that sounded to low so I edited it. Man I must be suffering w/ cranio-rectal inversion

8000K, as recommended? I'm gonna look up the stupid conversion.

8000 km is fine...

I dunno, I have faith in my car being able to go 5, heck.. maybe 10K miles without any problem whatsoever.

Otherwise, the manual would have suggested a more frequent change interval. Jiffy lube and valvoline (and my dealer come to think of it...) say 3000 :bs: , but mazda says 10... 5 if you think you've been particularly mean to your car. I'll just have to disappoint quaker state I guess

We are discussing kilometers not miles. We are trying to convert. The answer lies with the all knowing BV:

1 mile = 1.6 Km's
1 Kg = 2.2 lbs.

Thanx Bart for the correction. I have a saying: If someone spanks you on something you are more likey not to ever forget it again.... now I will not forget.

ahhh, yes... and I even read all that and didn't make the connections...

argh, morning metric conversions make my head hurt... (confused)

but still, 5000 miles * 1.6 KM/ mile = 8000 KM... I was just saying 5000 KM (3000 miles) is a bit overprudent... but since it doesn't hurt your car and isn't too ridiculous, lots of people (oil change joints and oil manufacturers) like to suggest that as the interval.

new OPEC slogan: "every 3000 miles!"

Back in the day (5 years or so ago), oil change intervals were 5,000 miles for "normal" driving conditions and 3,000 miles for "severe" driving conditions.

The Mazda 3 oil change is recommended at 7,500 miles (12,000km) for "normal" driving and 5,000 miles (8,000km) for "severe" driving. The biggest reason (but far from the only one) being the switch to semi-synthetic oil.

There's no good reason to change the oil before 5,000 miles (excluding the initial break-in), unless you feel like supporting those poor, deprived oil-producing nations in the middle east.

older engine was recommended to change the oil every 3000 miles or every 3 months. which is roughly 5000km or every 3 months. 4 years ago, a honda engine would recommend an oil change every 6000km, or every 4 months. Now, with the newer engine, the time between old change has been increaed to every 6 months, or every 8000km. If you switch to syntheic, the time will be even longer. Follow what is recommended and not everyone is telling you to do.

Follow the owner's manual.
