I need to change my front strut (just stock struts) does anyone have any guides?

Also do you need to have the front aligned immediately or can you wait a week or two?

Any help will be great.

Thanks

It's a piece if cake aside from the sway bar link bolts. Get lots of liquid wrench and start soaking them now. Are you putting springs in ? If so, you will not want to wait too long before an alignment. I waited 2 weeks and destroyed my front tires..............

Overall, it's really not very hard at all. 4 bolts under the hood, 2 at the bottom of the strut, sway bar end link bolt, clip for the brake line. I think that's about it. Maybe try searching for a spring install "how to". I'm sure there is something showing the removal of the struts.

Good luck

Thanks...

We are using the springs that are on there now. I think that I will have to get the alignment the next day. You think that is okay?

Ya..spray any bolt that needs to come off w/ Liquid Wrench. Spray the bolts every 4 or 5 hours or so a day ahead. Then the morning of the install..it should be easy as pie.

Does anyone know where I can get a "how to" either on the internet or on this forum?

BTW, if you want to meet some locals, there are a lot of us in the MD/DC area and a few of us have done this install on our cars now, some of us more than once. :)

I have always let things settle in for a week or so before getting an alignment. I would think going to tighter and lower suspension would be more liable to shift things around more though.

borrow an impact wrench. its the best tool for the job. i installed all 4 struts and springs in 3 hours, using an impact wrench, and i'm a totaly noob.
