Hey,

I hit a tire that was blowout on the highway going about 60MPH. The damage wasn't much but I damaged the lower plastic black part of the front bumper. Just got this car and I can't stand seeing that and even though its not that big of a damage, I still want to fix it. See the pictures.

I tried cleaning it but it did nothing. Is this something that a local body shop could fix? What are my options?

Is this the matte plastic trim? I thought all of the trim was black plastic, but yours seems to be color matched to the rest of the paint. Liquid Silver?

Anyways, it looks to me from your photos like a scuff in the matte plastic. I know for black plastic there are conditioners and restorers you can buy like "Back to Black", so I'm sure there must be some for non-black colored plastic trim. If that area is the matte plastic trim, I'm not sure a polishing compound meant for paint/clear coat would do much for it.

It's meteor gray mica and it matte finish plastic trim.

It is black plastic but the photo was taken from a phone and during bright sunny day so it looks different. I might have to polish the entire trim so it matches.

Lol.. don't put a patch of plasti dip on that.. new car not a beater (dip is ghetto). Back to black like some others suggested and a polisher imo.

you cant tell the difference. i tried it on the bottom of my door to see what it would look like its an identical color match and it will preserve the original plastic underneath it

Let me know the repair goes. I have a deep gash in my front bumper as well and I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it. In my case I think I will have to fill in the gas with some sort of filler, sand it down and then either paint it or use plasti dip.

I'd be interested in the results as well - I have some serious scuff marks on my front bumper trim that need to be fixed

I don't have any scuffs, but I do have a lot of rough that could use smoothing out, mostly from small rocks and such

Ya your right, i didnt check home depot for this. But i got Mothers Back to Black already so i will try this first and see how it goes. It rained all day so i couldnt apply this but tomorrow should be better.
