NASA MId-Ohio Meet April 9-10, 2011

I live in lima ohio, I will be tring to make it to the meet. I have a few buddys I go to college with at UNOH for high performance. I will spread the word throughout my school and see if we can't get some fun to roll in, also get some more mulah for the kids that really need the help and clothes.

soooo, as I am the weather debbie downer I must ask this - who's bringing the tents that will help us hide from the rain? Also, is everyone on their own for the food? Portable grills?

What's the official meet time on Saturday?

Gate entry fee?

so far it's 30% of scattered t-storms and high of 69* not too bad...if it doesn't rain (this is for sunday)

i just new tires that i was going to use for the weekend, but i think there's supposed to be about a 500 mile break in period before optimum performance; plus i don't have my coilovers in and need an alignment bad...i don't think that i'm going to race the protege at all... :(

i am considering using the MSM for hyperdrive though...i'll just have to be the last one in the pack and go slow around the corners...i mean, i did already pay for it...

we'll see...

I most likely am bringing a big tent down--at least on Saturday--it is cumbersome to put up, though...not hard, but still
For food, there is a nearby Subway I think, and the dominoes guy in his golf cart, LOL. Or concession stand...
Event should be free to get in, unless they changed from last year.

I dunno the official meet time, but I plan on getting there about 8:30 on Saturday and before whatever time necessary for the drivers meeting on sunday (7:30?)
It better not rain like the last time I was at MidOhio............................grr................:)

It will be nice to see Kevin and your new MSM if you don't bring the Protege! I too would like to take it easy first time out on track, just cruising around and getting a hang of the proper lines and car control.

NWS now calling for 30% chance of rain on Saturday with less than .10" of total rainfall and nothing on Sunday. It keeps looking better and better as the week goes on!

Is anyone else going to be in the area Friday night? I'm just curious what everyone's going to be doing. I'm likely going to be too late to make it to Tech. but I don't exactly feel like sitting in the motel room all night.

I'll be at track until 730 Friday then at Comfort Inn with my kids. Would love to catch dinner with you if you'd like.

PM me and I'll give you my cell number.

Jenny, our girls (possibly), and I will most likely be at the track also Friday. For no other reason except we can. lol! We would be down for an impromptu dinner meet.

alrighty. Are we even allowed to grill on the track? Portable grill anyone? Since I'm not planning on tracking my car (not even close to be tuned right) I need the atmosphere of the race weekend. :D

A dinner getogether sounds good to me - my only concern is that I won't be up there until ~7:30 PM at the earliest. To me, that isn't too late for dinner, but I don't want anyone starving on my account. I'm staying at the Travelodge in Mansfield, just off of I71 Exit 169 - there are plenty of food places around there.

I will bring my 10x10 easyup for rain or better yet for shade from the sun

you can't grill ON the track ... but you can grill AT the track ... he he

but who has a portable grill? my small one is pretty crappy ... anyone got a good table top to bring?

i'll also be bringing a 12'x12' easy up ... but at first sign of high wind or thunderstorms, it's coming down!! i bought a couple of wooden dowels to strengthen the side that got damaged from the last storm down there ... that was fun : /

and now the cleveland weather guys are saying it could hit 80 on sunday!! just great ... did i blink and miss spring?

don't forget the suntan lotion!!

shelly has one... grill and table...

Yes, I was waiting for someone to tell me that I can't cook ON the track.. TOO BAD. I would totally enjoy that. Would be super awesome, actually. :D

Lauri, wanna talk to Shelly about the grillz? :)

I'll grill. I have some sausages in the fridge and probably a couple of other things. If anyone wants something cooked - bring that sh*t with you and it'll be done.
Now, since Lauri is Shelly bestie, I think she should talk to her. :D
