MZR/Duratec Engine Specs
Twowheeled from Miata.net did some research to try and find some specs on the various iterations of the MZR/Duratec blocks. There is some data but its all scattered across various threads and not many people seem to know exactly what is a swap and what is different between these engines. Here is what I have found so far.. feel free to add some of the missing info if you can find it.

Notes:
-Head and oil pan are direct swaps between 2.0/2.3/2.5 but not 2.3 DISI

-Bolt bosses/headpatterns/bell patterns are all the same except 2.3 DISI

-2.3 and 2.5 has balance shafts and gear cast onto the crank, except the 2.3 Ranger crank.

-2.3 has a higher deck height than the 2.0 so rods are not interchangeable. The 2.3 appears to be a stroked 2.0 and the 2.5 is a bored and stroked 2.3.

-Duratec 2.0/2.3/2.5 appear to be similar castings as the MZR's visually, and as such should be interchangeable. Although this is untested.

-Headstuds are the same between 2.0/2.3 engines, mainstuds may require modification.

Thank you two wheeled from Miata.net

Here's an attached chart from his research. Maybe someone here will also be interested.

There are multiple oil pans on the different MZR engines. Not all are interchangeable. Some have a internal oil dip stick, others have a external that goes towards the front of the engine. I found that one out the hard way. And the Duratec's are just Fords name for the same engine as our MZR. There are slight differences, but generally you can source quite a bit off them. The one thing that is usually specific is the head though.
