Ok, so for the guys that have been around for a while or know me, I had a ms6 before the 3. When I first got it, I purchased a set of Enkei Evo5's in Hyperblack.
I really love these wheels, so much so, when I got my ms3, they went right on it.
The wheels are almost 5 years old now, so they have some wear and tear. Last month on the way to work I was on a very small road, and I see a fire truck blaring down on me. I get quickly out of the way. Well it wasnt enough. Fire truck cant get through. So, I sort of panic and swerve closer to the curb...........CRUNCH! The sound of concrete on aluminum. (blarf)
Sick to my stomach, I finish the short drive to work and survey the damage. Curb rash on the lip that goes almost halfway around the wheel and a large scratch on one of the spokes. (blarf)
Now, I get the bright idea to resurface and powdercoat the wheels. I start calling around to get quotes. Lucky me, a shop about an hour and half drive away has deal going. Four wheels resurfaced, blasted, and coated for $125. It was too good to pass up. Not only was it a great price, but they coated the center cap rings, and threw in a can of color matched touch up paint to sweeten the deal.
Center Caps:
Center Cap Rings coated Gloss Black:
Wheels coated Gloss White:
Center Caps Assembled:
Tires Re-mounted:
Final Product Photoshoot:
What do you guys think? I'm sure I will get flamed for white wheels, but I love them even more then the original Hyperblack.
