My wheel story w/pics

Ok, so for the guys that have been around for a while or know me, I had a ms6 before the 3. When I first got it, I purchased a set of Enkei Evo5's in Hyperblack.

I really love these wheels, so much so, when I got my ms3, they went right on it.

The wheels are almost 5 years old now, so they have some wear and tear. Last month on the way to work I was on a very small road, and I see a fire truck blaring down on me. I get quickly out of the way. Well it wasnt enough. Fire truck cant get through. So, I sort of panic and swerve closer to the curb...........CRUNCH! The sound of concrete on aluminum. (blarf)
Sick to my stomach, I finish the short drive to work and survey the damage. Curb rash on the lip that goes almost halfway around the wheel and a large scratch on one of the spokes. (blarf)

Now, I get the bright idea to resurface and powdercoat the wheels. I start calling around to get quotes. Lucky me, a shop about an hour and half drive away has deal going. Four wheels resurfaced, blasted, and coated for $125. It was too good to pass up. Not only was it a great price, but they coated the center cap rings, and threw in a can of color matched touch up paint to sweeten the deal.

What do you guys think? I'm sure I will get flamed for white wheels, but I love them even more then the original Hyperblack.

Looks good!
I'm not a huge fan of white wheels simply because a trip around the block and they're visually coated with brake dust.
It could be the pictures but they don't look like an exact much but still close enough to look good.

I think they look pretty damn good and like them better now than before. Now you just need to drop that thing and it will be pure sex!

what's the name of this powdercoating shop and where is it located?

im assuming its in the Pittsburgh area, but id LOVE to know where cause ive been wanting to get the ms6's pc'd

the white wheels look ALOT better than they did before, we gotta meet up sometime dude

Looks good! Reminds me of the white RHs I have on my car for winter.

Where did you get all four wheels done for $125 though?! I'm looking to get my RHs refinished before winter and that is a sweet deal!

Thanks for the kind words, guys! Yeah, I plan to keep up on them as I am sure they will need cleaned often. Surprisingly, the powdercoat is so smooth, that the dust literally wipes right off.

The shop was:

Dlubak Powdercoating. They are in Kittaning, PA. They were great to deal with and provided me with email updates and photos of my wheels as soon as they finished baking. If you go there, be sure to tell them Bob with the white wheels sent you. All the employees were so impressed with how they turned out and how great they look on a car. They normally deal with wheels for commercial trucks, so they loved the opportunity to do a set of "tuner" wheels.

Oh darn... 7 hours away! I might still do it though if I can't find it cheaper closer.

They certainly came out great. :)

Ha! Its funny you mention yours, because they were the main reason I chose white. I have you to thank for my inspiration.

Their normal deal is 4 wheels for $175, 125 was their April special.
