My Turbo Project

all my gaskets came in. I keep forgetting that when you order a stud, bolt, screw, nut, etc. they only send you one. So the sent 1 stud when I needed 2 for the exhaust manifold. I found out they fit the turbo, so I ordered another 4 and will just use the original for the exhaust manifold. I also only got one nut for the s-pipe to j-pipe connection, so had to get 2 more of those.

I forgot to order a new valve cover gasket. I need to call them Monday morning and see if they can add it to the order before it ships.

All my ATP stuff should get here Tuesday. Once I see how big the flange is on the turbo, I'll probably have to order new couplers and get them Next Day Aired so I'll have them by Friday for the install.

yeah, it came up on me quick, too. I thought I had another week. I need to find a place to do powder coating this week and get the pipes done.

Good News: my parts from ATP came in today
Bad News: I'm missing a banjo fitting needed for the water lines. I e-mailed Kooldino. Now I'm just waiting to hear back.

I decided to do a mock of of all the parts I have to see what I may be missing. Here's a picture w/ labels (1600x1200).

Parts I'm still needing:
2.5 to 2.25 silicone hose (turbo to intake)
studs for the turbo to s-pipe
nuts for those studs
nuts for exhaust manifold to turbo
nuts for s-pipe to exhaust
bolts for turbo intake flange
bolts for turbo drain flange

Looks like I'll be hitting NAPA for some nuts and bolts after Mazda drops off my package tomorrow.

there is no sign saying the date and forum name, so I have a hard time believing those are actually yours. even though I have seen more than 2/3rds of that stuff in person.

Good call, Scott. Better lock the thread since he didn't follow the rules!

BTW, when do you want to get together and work on that CAI for the MPV?

MBSP is tapped and ready to go.

Luke gets to help me ready the garage Thursday after we wire his gauges.

let me get started on my first project with the vacuum blocks first then I will make my way to that one. I could spend a day up there with my boxes of piping and chop saw. only thing i think we would need to source would be couplers. guess we could plan it out then order them from silicone intakes.com

yum. I can't wait to get back up to school so I can do a mock-up in my basement.. I still need all sorts of oil/coolant lines.

stopped by Adam's to pick up some stuff I dropped off to get painted. It's the same color as my badges, wheels, and radiator diverter plate.

They look even sweeter in real life. The pics don't do them justice. :)

I wish I could have done something to my IM when I had it off the car.. but sadly I needed it back on the car so that I could uh drive to work and stuff :P

I'd buy a single runner manifold but I think I'll get a lightweight flywheel instead :)

yeah i think when i do some stuff to my exhaust manifold i am gonna take my IM back off and paint it like the rest of the stuff under the hood is painted now.

Aside from the "incident", tonight went a lot faster than I thought it would. This thing just might come together afterall :).

yeah its kool i was in a good position to be mamed when the trans jack dropped too fast and ripped the passenger side motor mount out (the only mount holding everything. We think the only thing that stopped it all from coming out was the half shaft.

If the shaft failed, the A/C hoses would have slowed it down....a bit, lol.
