My Turbo Project

Today was productive. Kevin was able to fabricate a different bracket to use the stock MSP wastegate actuator and get it work.

I forgot to take pictures of the finished product, but it looks good. Right now they're hanging to dry after being painted to prevent rust.

Here's a nice shot of the turbo in the car:

Even though it wasn't much, this was a big step. We were able to get this turbo to work with this engine.

ok, its startin to get there

good luck with the rest

The transmission is done!

I ran into a thousand small problems that made me take the tranny apart.
-first, the reverse gear actuator wasn't aligned
-second, the race + shim fell out while I was aligning the reverse gear actuator(same thing happened to Dana)
-third, I forgot to reinstall the black plastic oil sender piece
-fourth, broke the black plastic piece rushing to get things done(gave luke mine - planning to "plastic weld" mine back together)
-fitth FINALLY GOT IT

I should've made a list of things to triple check because the smallest thing will make you have to remove the bolts, remove the rtv, undo w/e, redo rtv + wait 30 minutes for it to set, and put the bolts back in + torque them.

Are you planning on working on the car on Monday night?
I should be able to stop on by and help with the tranny reinstall

Yup. We'll be here if the tranny is ;).

I wish I had a tranny rebuilder that I could just drop my tranny off at.. but the only time I have more than a one-week break from work/school is winter break and it's too cold :P

so while my turbo sits out in the garage in the freezing cold I'll just live vicariously through your install haha.

I'll be leaving here at 7:30pm to avoid traffic..
See ya later.

Yay!! Transmission's is back in.

Boo!! the AC condensor I bought isn't for an MSP.

Yay! More progress tomorrow!

maybe i'll see if NAPA can modify that oil drain line and make it shorter

We need to find out how long it has to be first.

A short peice of rubber hose won't hurt, if it resorts to that. I think it'll be too tight for any sort of braided line, but we'll have to see when everything is attached properly.

your talking about the turbo oil drain line? the MSP one is rubber. And what kind of condenser did you get if its not for an MSP but not for a P5

It's just another P5 condensor.
