Hi !

here's my tests on my G-tech Pro :

I'm at 10 psi of peak and drop to 9 - 8 psi and Drop in K&N filter.

First shot:

0-60 mph : 6.65sec
1/4 mile : 15.23 sec @ 97.9 mph

Second shot:

0-60 mph : 6.50sec
1/4 mile : 14.94 sec @ 99.4 mph

Third shot:

0-60 mph : 6.44sec
1/4 mile : 14.92 sec @ 98.8 mph

And HP test ...........not very accurate :

171 whp

Theses times are is good ? or very poor ? tomorrow I will go to a real 1/4 mile dragway.

Thanks

Your 0-60's may be a little high but your 1/4 times are right on. Is your car stock? If so the HP number is only off by 1 which is definitely pretty accurate considering the source not being a dyno.

Gtechs measure WHP not BHP. With most stock MSPs putting down @150 WHP, with his extra boost is sounds about right. And his 1/4 times are right on. What did you use for weight, published data, or did you get your car weighed? A full vs. empty tank of gas makes a difference.

Boosting 10psi but still at stock HP#'s that is why I think the HP numbers are off. Either Mazda is inflating WHP #'s or David MPS boost numbers are off. You would think 3 added PSI at peak would result in a little better than stock numbers. Am I missing something? I have already proven I woke up on the dumb side of the bed today lol

edit: Vega cleared it up. Thank you Vega.

the numbers mazda publishes are crank hp #'s...only american car manufacturers usually do whp

I record 2920pounds more than 1279kg empty.

And my tink was at half full and I filled with 94 octanes.

Im scared to boost up to 10psi steady (not peak) because I don't want blow out my motor !

For the 1/4 mile times, I thinked do 14.6sec average...........Because someone there , do 15.12sec stock.

Dumbass question: What does the 'b' stand for in bhp?

The B in BHP ,stands for Brake,as in Brake horse power. This means at the crank.
WHP is wheel horsepower. This means to the pavement!
Hope this helps ,Matt:D

Yep, brake horsepower. On an engine dyno, without the car, they use what they call a water brake. It is like a torque converter that the dyno reads from. I think it is an old term, but I am a young ols school domestic kind of guy.

Also, I believe that all manufacturers use the current SAE net readings to rate the cars here in the US.

As far as JDM goes, there is a "Gentleman's agreement" between the government and the manufacturers to not build cars over 280 hp. That is why until recently all the super cars over there are 280. Even though the STI back in 2000 ran 500+.

It was actually 276HP, and they were going well over just not publishing higher numbers.

I think the moral of this story is......

I want a G-Tech Pro !!!! That thing sounds bad ass. I've seen the commercials but never knew anybody who had one. Sa-weeeet!

David MPS do you know your times before boost?
today I will instal my MBC set it to 9psi. bone stock I did 0-60 time in 6.47sec with my G-tech Pro. so I like to know what was your gain so I have an idea what to expect from boost.

with a boost stock + flash , and more experience in start ;) , Injen , I do 6.8sec . But I spike the boost like 7 - 7.5 psi but stable at 6psi . Im sure with a EBC and boost 9.5psi stable, my Injen, no cats, I can do 6sec flat ! :D

14.92 @ 9psi not too bad.....
I just got my set of drag radials for next year...... this winter will filled with dreams of mid-low 13's

The ET seems right. But the trap speed is a little too high. Would probably be around 94-95mph on the strip.

Right !

The G-tech Pro are very accurate for the "time" but the mph, its all the time too high !

i ran some g-tech pro runs yesterday. first run crazy wheel hop. 60ft. 2.6 1/8 9.7 14.4 at 108mph 221hp second run took off easier 60 ft 2.6 1/8 9.8 1/4 14.8 100mph 180 hp put 3200 pounds for 2 people in car with 8 psi
