check your thermostat and waterpump. Does it heat up rapidly at stops then cool off during driving?

If you see white smoke out the tailpipe...you're too late.

Thermostat is not opening...almost for sure, but if you keep overheating it you will be doing a head gasket and possibly more...get it fixed and quit driving it till then

Stop driving it ASAP like these guys said, have it TOWED to a shop, before this $20 thermostat becomes a $2000 head gasket or worse.

The headgasket can cause this as well. I took my thermostat out of my old car once and it still overheated, the gasket was only $50.00 and it took 5 Hours to change. The car never overheated again...

I guess you don't read the forum too much. The engine has like 2000 Km on it and I just got it back together after a full rebuild. The problem was that the shop forgot to torque the head bolts and the gasket failed.
