I really don't feel like reading this whole thread. So for all those as lazy as I, you have two cars now? And you have to pay for both of them or what's the final situation??

One car payment for the new car, but he needs to sell one of the cars.

ouch dude that sucks majorly...

too bad you couldnt get in contact with the guy who stole it and just said "keep it"...

hopefully youll find resolve to your situation...

That sucks. the only good way to look at this is tht you own one out right and you will have it in your posession. Your making payments on a car now that you needed to get you out of a bind. If you were going to use the insurance money to pay the new car off you could have still been stuck paying payments. I would say to just sell the one that was stolen and use that money to pay off the majority of your new car and then refinance it to a lower payment. Or keep them both and mod the one that was stolen to no tomorrow.

The guy who screwed you over really needs to get beat down.

That's about what happened to me when my Escort got stolen. Waited till it was past the supposed settlement date, bought another car, couple days later they found it and now had two cars. :(

They never caught the guy. The car was found abandoned.... so in summary:

1) There is no one to arrest.
2) I have one car payment (my new car) - I paid for my first one in cash.
3) I have to get the old car "fixed up" depending on the damage
4) I have to sell it. (Which I hope to get at least 20-21K for it.)

In all, I will be out about $4000 - $5000 on this whole adventure.

I will have it towed to my house about 3:30 today... After my initial inspection, the insurance company has to come look at it. They figure 30 days to get the paint / rims, etc redone. (I know I haven't seen it, but what are the odds that the kid took it joy riding for 40 days and didn't do any damage?) Then, after it is clean and pristine...sell it. That is my plan.

Ha! Of course...I wouldn't show her like that...only if she is still alive. Otherwise, I will leave her "under the sheet."

On a side note, I just did a search on autobytel for a MS3 sport. There was only one for sale within 100 miles of me, and they wanted $24,000. (It has about 1600 miles on it and the same options as I do.) I am feeling better about my decision to ask $23.5K for mine. (Mine will have about 2600 miles -- I hope, and I have the MS CAI.)

Been gone a while but had to check up on whats been goin on with yer speed. Sux that the insurance didnt pay out before they found the car. Hopefully it wont be too bad and you'll be able to sell it and not lose too much money. Best of luck mang!

I payed $23k for mine brand new, Why would anybody pay that for a used one? (headshake

not every area has enough of them to go around so if someone wants one bad enough and this is there only option they will take it...also if a dealer doesnt get many and there arent many in the area they will adjust the price up to what they want to sell it for

I have heard of people paying up to $2500 over sticker for the speed. I got mine for $23, 085 (Sport with Autodim mirror and chrome filler door). I wish I would have gotten the GT, but there was only 1 here and they wanted over sticker.

When I was selling Toyota's the Prius was just coming out. We got a used one in and sold it for $32k and the car new is $25k. So that just proves when someone wants the car and it is in short supply the wallet can open wider! (cryhard)

Really really sucks that you didn't get then payment from the insurance company and that you're stuck with 2 cars... on the BRIGHT side, at least you're not making TWO payments, that would hurt.

at the very least you should be able to sell the car for 22k (especially if you include the CAI on it right? Plus if the rims are still on the car, unless you plan to keep those for yourself)

I already know there is some damage to your car as the result of what you said your neighboy got rearended, so that means your front bumper is damage at the least.

Good luck to you man, you should be able to sell the car after they fix it up, and I would keep the newer one. I don't think I'd ever keep a "stolen" car, you never really know what's wrong with it. He might have revved the crap out of the engine, shut the car off too soon before letting the turbo cool.

Better off selling it.... just not to one of us (lol)
