Lexus IS300
So I have had the IS since Feb. So far I have I have lowered it with a set of Hotchkics springs and installed front and rear adjustable sway bars. To help stiffen up the car I picked up a TOM's rear strut tower brace. I then added an AEM intake so that I could hear something from under the hood. My last upgrade was to the tires. I went from a 215/45/17 to a nitto invo 225/45/17. The tires plus the suspension has made the car so much fun to drive. I find myself pushing the harder and harder. Right now I have the soft settings on the sways and if I ever make it out to an autox I may try and tune them in. Just thought I would share with my mazda peeps:

looks good. ive always liked the is body lines and the fact that its RWD is a +1. but i would have gone with 225-40's so that the side wall isnt so fat. but none the less is clean, for a NON-mazda

225/40/17 is very limited and the cost was something I wouldn't consider. The Nitto's I have only came in 225/45/17 and were available the day I dropped off my car for alignment. I'm actually digg'n the size as it fills up the wheel well much better. So far I love these tires but I would like to see how they would stand up to heat cycles of say an autox. If only I had the time to make it out!! Hopefully....one day I'll make it out to something!

i really like those IS's....

at a local autox i saw a black turbo'ed one, it had the intercooler painted black so it was real sleeper, the only particularly visible mods were the drop and a titanium exhaust tip (sexy).

Very nice IS. Just lose the AEM plate frame. My cousin drives a TRD package IS in the same color. It has acouple of other mods done to it too.

its an automatic isnt it :(

I only buy automatics for my wife!! My IS has a manual trans with a lsd in the rear. Yet another rwd car that lsd was an option. I was totally amazed when I found out that a 350Z can be had without a lsd. I didn't think such a thing existed. I played around with an new S4 on some back roads today. I think that might be my next car if I can't convince myself to stick with the IS. I wouldn't normally advertise for any company unless they were paying me but the front tag is a must and I hated the look of it sitting there with no frame on it. It just looked naked. The same goes for the rear tag. I still have the Lexus dealer bracket.

Nice ride...I've always like the IS...it's a bit unique these days...inline6 & RWD plus cool lines (2thumbs)

I like them, but they are EVERYWHERE down here. Seems like every Yuppie buys their frat/sorority offspring one of these to drive around in. Tallahassee has forever ruined the IS for me =(

nice nice... tough to find a manual one in these cars. almost all of the ones i find are autos.

I've always had a soft spot for the IS300. Handsome good looks, RWD, slightly underpowered but just enough to have fun. If I could pick one up for not too much in the future I'd consider it.

Nice looking ride!

that is such a bad ass car! with so much potential! for everything! good solid platform for alot of go fast times!

s4 is a little bit big... y dont u just stick with this IS and turbo it :) IS300+turbo = ownage.... ive seen some sleeper IS300 ... and trust me u will b suprized if its tuned the rite way its just amazing .. my opinion.. i will take an IS over an S4 n e time ..

I <3 IS300

My Dad has one in the garage that was suppose to be given to me but the insurance was too much he said.

Nobody ever drives it and ive only drove like 250 miles on it.

The car as of now has 50k and its an 01 auto

IS300 with turbo does equal beast go to swiftracingtechnologies(SRT) and look at their stage 4 turbo i think..it puts out 1,000 hp

I totally agree that a turbo would be awesome but I really don't think I want to invest that much money, time, and effort. I meet to a meet and saw an IS with a 2.75 SRT set up with a supra 6spd and rear end. Total he has invested about 20k into his car and make around 700rwhp. I think I would be happy with 300rwhp and that would cost me around $8k to do it right with the tuning and all. So my thoughts right now is to keep it mildly modded and probably trade it in on something next year. On a side note, I did final track the car and man was I impressed with how natural the car felt when pushed the to the limits. The Nitto's didn't even slick up with the heat! They held traction the best they could except when I made mistakes.
