I paid $308 in store pickup, thats with all the CA taxes. Its $284+ on the website, and I would say $52 shipped in the US. I saved and went to there new shop. I've tried for the last 8+ months to find it online for less but everyone seems to be selling it for $300+ and add shipping and it gets up to $350+MBFamilia said:

Its $100 more then any exhaust, hell for $300-350 you can get an entire catback, but I like the style of the HKS so I went for it. I'll get an exhaust shop to make me a custom catback with this exhaust, later. Comes with everything you need like the two bolts, and the gasket. I guess I paid $100 more for the brand and the nifty sticker (evil)

Not really, yours has an angled tip, mines straight (I like the angled tip though). I'm sure the difference is in the way the HKS is angled outward when its installed, while most exhausts are straight.Nutari said:

looks f-ing great! at first i thought the tip was kinda big, but it fills the bumper cut-out perfectly. is there a sound clip of this somewhere?

I too think its the perfect size for the bumper. Already random people are telling me how nice my body kit looks, like especially the back bumper. LoLs had to tell them the car came like that stocked, and the HKS just fills the back bumper nicely.

HKS > Ractive why?
lets compare real facts ok...they are both made out of SS, they are both TIG welded and the welding on the ractive is just as good as HKS, they both mandrel bend their piping....for some reason I am not seeing a huge difference between the 2 units except for the almost 200dollar price difference....
Unless the HKS pieces are hand made, which when your talking about an axle back system how complicated is it....
IDK, maybe its just me or is it the same thing as with every other retail market, brand names sell, and therefor can charge more. have had my ractive for 6months at least now, 3 in AZ heat and 3 in seattle rain and after a wash it looks awesome still.
I do like the powdercoating on the HKS piping though, that would cost you a little extra on the ractive piece, very nice system either way and a good buy.

if you're just specifically talking about axle back exhausts, then there might not be a huge diference between the two. however, if you're talking about HKS and Ractive as companies, then HKS will easily beat out Ractive. Do you see Ractive products on Supras, RX7s, EVO8s? I guess it's all about what you decide to put on your car and how much you can afford.

i have HKS axel back for the P5 too... do any of you guys use the the kartboy exhaust hangers?
i've had my HKS on my car for about 3 or 4 months and I noticed that the tip position was different when the car is cold ie. in the morning the gap between the tip and the notch in the bumper would be smaller but after driving for about 15mins the gap would be bigger... i just thought it was due to expand and contraction due to heat.
then one day i noticed that the gap was hanging bigger even when the car was cold so i looked under and found out that the hanger had ripped a hole out of the piping of the exhaust and it was only hanging by the back hanger. took it to a shop to get the hanger welded and the hole covered and they said that probably the first hanger was taking a lot of load due to the twist angle.. i dunno... could be bs... but then now the gap is always the same size hot or cold.
so you guys might want to check to see if your pipe is beginning to rip...
