My Engine Rebuild Gallery

Very cool.
Quick question. How hard was it to get the tranny out (to do a clutch and flywheel and possibly a LSD). I want to do this, but have never done so on a FWD car before. Just curious. I have pulled an engine before, but I don't have a shop for that any longer. I did do my turbo by myself. So, do you think I can handle / figure out the tranny stuff? Anything I should get beforehand?

NICE!!!!! You lucky basterd, you have a "garage", I once had a dream about thoes... It sucks doing engine swaps on the stones, and in the mud :D

Your officially the person I am hiring to help when I get rich and can afford a turbo and other cool mod's. That will never happen so you have nothing to worry about. ;)

Lookin good man, hope you get running soon.

wow..the wear on those rear mounts is incredible! Looks like the addedd engine power just twisted them to shreds..

Looks familiar heh?! pain in the ass, complete pain in the ass! But it's coming along better than I thought. This weekend we'll measure then we'll order the pistons. Oh I can't wait. It's been more than 3 months!!! Hey Patrick do you use those ring things from your stock rod for the pauters or do I need to buy some? I noticed the opening on the rod looks a little too big for the crankshaft.

You are right about that!! PAIN IN THE BOOTAY! The rod bearings I plan to use are new stock ones. Have you test-fitted your rods to the crankshaft?

I was going to teast fit em yesterday but my hands hurt so bad I couldn't do it holding on to it, I'd have to put it in the vise, which is being occupied by a heavy ass AC compressor. When I compare the old a new side by side it's fairly obvious that the a little too large, I'll give it a try though maybe tonite. How come your buying new stock ones? Are yours damaged at all?, mine look fine I don't see why not just swapping them off the old ones.

It's always better to replace bearings if you get the chance! This is mostly for assurance. Plus you will undobtedly have new clearances.

Right, but there has been wear on your current bearings. If you put them in in their current condition, it won't be the best seal and fit possible. You have new rods, use new crankshaft bearings please!:)
