my ECU CEL prob

i really wish i could get some sort of male harness for the mp3 ecu..Then I could make a little patch cable with a male for the mp3 and a female for the p5, and put all of my piggyback wiring into that so it is all nice and clean, then I would have my #73 wire too!

I have looked into this time and time again..

THERE IS NO WIRE @ PIN #73 ON THE MP3 HARNESS...

If there was, a simple closed circuit witha resistor would do the trick, but you obviously can't do that since there is no existing wire..I see a few ways of fixing this...

Getting a P5 Wiring Harness, Solder, Heatshrink, and a weekend of nonstop soldering..

Figuring out a way to press a wire into the harness, I'm sure there are little tools for this or something...

Going back to the MP3 ECU..

I am fighting this battle right now, and we are going to attempt to put a wire into the harness..
There are plenty of ways to do it.
I will do it on Kooldinos car and let you guys know.

I have verified that you can disconnect the VTCS and not get a CEL if you leave the solenoid plugged in. Thus if you were to wire in a solenoid you could get rid of it. That still means you need to put a #73 wire into the MP3 wiring harness, but if you do, it will work. Any P5 that removes the VTCS can go CEL free. . .PM if you have questions. Very easy to do.

well i will look at it later today, if i have no freaking clue on what to do i will pm you...
oh yeah you have more info on what solenoid to use?

ok so i got a wire in seems to be making contact with the pin. so now what? also if i get a voltometer, what readings should i be getting?

Sorry. . .been busy. . .unfortunately, I'm not an electronics kind of engineer . . . but here goes.

If you have a wire in 73 then you need power going to the VTCS solenoid plus the wire you added (the ECU switches ground on pin 73).

So, if you have the solenoid then you connect power to terminal A and #73 to terminal B.

Now the next question is which is A, right? If you have the solenoid and you point the vacuum connection towards the ground, then A is on the right and B is on the left.

Make sense?
