my ECU CEL prob

Whenever you can get around to it bro. Other then the cylenoid, what do I need? I want to get everyhting I need before I start.

hmm about 5 mins. no wait add the 10mins to reset ecu and after a few hundred miles its still has not popped a cel for that problem.

reset the ecu? Using what? OB-II? Or are you talking putting it back in place.

I contacted Beavis and he has a soelinoid on hold for me. I want to know I can do what's needed before I buy anything though.

disconnected negative terminal to reset ecu. after driving cel light did come on, i thought it was because solenoid didnt work, after a few days a driving my buddy hooked a scanner type device and checked codes, cel was on but because i have a bad o2 sensor.

Ill do a full picture how to all nice and documented if I can just get a solenoid..

Dom, Kza, either of you have time to make that tutorial yet? I wanna try and do this next weekend. Like I told you, I'd love you forver (wink)

i havent got a solenoid yet..i just put the wire in the harness yesterday...all i did was strip about an inch off a very thin wire..push it through until i saw a bit coming out of the end, and then used a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the rest of the wire though..i didnt even use any super glue and it was holding pretty tight..ill super glue it when I get a chance tho.

Can someone grab a multimeter and check that wire(#73)? I wanna try to do it with a resistor or something so people can do this without buying a solenoid..

you still have not gotten yours? well i had a question, anyone know if the rear o2 sensor will work to replace first o2. i mean, if i where to cut wires and solder them onto harness for 1st o2 sensor will it work? i compared both and 2black wires, 1blue,1white. unless they read dif voltages..wish i knew what the hell goes on

ehh well i started having other problems with the car. i did notice that after i put o2 sensor it shows a leaner reading. one of my friends is coming over with a scanner to check out the code. i will update you.

HEy Dom,

I'm just doing my modifiacation now. I have the groundi n pin 73 but am not sure where to power the red wire to, where did you power yours? I know there are a billion and one power wires but which did you pick?

Also, I'm having O2 probs too. What did you end up doing? Did you have a probelm witht he first or the second O2? I heard the first or primary O2 is different and costs a shitload.

Ok I installed the sylenoid as said without a vacuum line and all was well until about 50 miles into it- the CEL came back on... :(

I checked my wired and everything looks good still (red wire to power and black wire to pin 73)- so I just added a vacuum line to the more restrictive barb and we'll see what happens. I cleared the code with my OBD-II.

*Note there are two barbs for vacuum lines. If you suck or blow on both you'll notice one is very tight and one just blows through into atmosphere so with all logic I'm guessing the hose needed to go ont he one that felt tight, otherwise it'd be likea vacuum leak.
