so today I bought a thing called the "airplay fm transmitter" for my ipod. it works well except there is a really faint high pitched ring the whole time I play it in my car and now my ears are ringing from it. I only tried stations 88.1 - 91.1. anyone know how to fix this ring?

bump

A guy I work with says he thinks I just bought a not-so-good product. I just wanna see if anyone knows how to fix the buzz before I take it back to exchange it

fm transmitters suck... sorry man... is there a way to try am? or just get the auxmod if you have your stock stereo...

there are am transmitters? are they better quality or something? more expensive?
how much is the auxmod??

auxmod is like 60$ or somethin.... its sweet, my old roomate still tells me after almost a year i think how much he loves that thing compared to the fm transmitter...

It's the volume of the Ipod. You have to turn the volume down on the Ipod and use the sterio controles. My dad has a toshiba MP3 and when it's turned up you get bad feedback also.

its not that. I had it at about 90% volume on my ipod and it was all static. turned it down to about 50% and it sounds good except for the buzz/squeal/hum.

i dont know if i really would know what to do with this thing. I am not an audio genius at all.....

Well I hate to say it, but take it back and tell the people that you bought it from. And let us know what happens.

its easy as s*** man, you take your hu out, then plug this little circuit board in to the tape/md add on slot and then plug your i pod wire into the plug for that.... if my old roomate could do it (granted it took him almost a day) you sure as hell could... especially with help from fellow forum members....

cool, I checked out the site though and I really want one. They say they wont be available until the first week of feb on the site though! dont know how patient I can be! does that piece charge it too or just play it?

and i know this is not likely, but since they are out of stock, does anyone have one they want to sell? Also, does anyone know of any other companies making products similar to this?

no one else is making these as far as i know, and i don't believe it charges it you if you want that you still need to tap into an ignition wire some where and plug it into a cradle charger or whatever.... feb isn't a bad wait my roomate waited over 4 months i think to get his.... its just a couple of electrical engineering students making these in thier spare time.... gotta love mazda enthusiats

this is one of two things i have come across and it isnt even avialable for our cars yet i send them e-mails to try and get it every couple weeks or so. and then there is this by jl audio though this isn't cheap but it will solve your issues as well... and as far as i know those are your options for the stock stereo.... thats why the auxmod is such a good deal, the monster one may never be avialable, and the clean sweep is expensive and over kill as our stereos aren't really tuned that much from what i understand, unless you have the bose option that is....

so does this plug into the headphone jack or the bottom one on the ipod?
they sell an adapter that hooks up to the ipod interface at the bottom with aux cables on the other end. it's more expensive, but I think you'll get better audio quality then through the headphone jack. also, it'll charge the ipod. if you get the headphone/aux cable then it won't charge. *i believe* I'm just starting in the ipod world myself.

I know it wont charge through the headphone jack, but I have a car charger I can leave plugged in if this plugs into the headphone jack. I mostly want to know if it charged it so I can know if I should just return the fm transmitter or the charger as well

sorry, when I said they I meant retailers in general. I looked at one at best buy. It was $100 where as the headphone connector was only about 30-40. I would do a google search to see if there's any difference in quality. I'd do it but I'm peacin out!
