My car wont start

Is it an automatic?
A common problem with automatics is the "Transaxle Range Switch", it is in the engine compartment on the drivers side where the shifting cable attaches.
With the key on, but not started, you are going to know right away if your car will start or not by looking at the square box around the "P" shift indicator on your dash.
If there is a box around it then it will start, if not then it won't because your car thinks it is in drive.
You can either put the shifter in neutral and if you now see the box around the "N" is will start.
Usually the Transaxle Range Switch is dirty or out of alignment.
Sometimes it even does it when it is hot, so if you drive and park a lot it will do it until it cools down.
So, keep an eye out for the box, that is the tell tale sign.
Hope this helps.
