Yes, I think it is gone :( A huge hail storm came through today with golf-ball to baseball sized hail. Pretty much every car in my college is totalled from the damage.

My damage includes
50 or so dents on hood and roof;
broken windshield, sunroof, and rear windshield
broken right taillight
broken sidemarker
dents in all doors and quarter panels
various plastic broken
mirrors and mirror covers broken
roof rack destroyed
mazda emblem on front is gone

Pretty much every piece on the car is damaged in some way, except for the front and rear bumpers, side sills. Other than those, everything is destroyed, except for all the side windows. I'm thinking the body damage is so great that insurance will just total the car.

My question is: Will this damage be enough to total it? I am concerned about the roof and the unibody of the car. I really have no idea what is gonna happen. I am just gald I have insurance, if I can fix it the deductable is only $250.

Jesus. Sorry to hear it.

I would attempt to get it fixed if you can, as there is nothing wrong with the car structurally.

Sucks....

if they do write it off....try to buy the car back (some insurance agencies give you this option/priority). You can then fix it...and or part it out.

Pics!

sorry Ace. and just after you bought the RB. my friend not too long ago got transfered to Col(army) and they had a hail storm which nearly totaled his 2002 rsx. the insurance company didn't total the car, instead they opted to fixed even though the damage was over 10g. he said his car was just how you described yours.....dents galore.

I thought about you when I heard how bad Socorro got hit!!!!! I figured you wouldn't have any cover. Sorry for your loss Joey!!!
Bad I want PICS!

Pics please, I know it hurts, but that good footage!

Good luck with the insurance, (struckture should be fine), if they do fix it, dont worry about the the car being sound.

Jebus Crikey!

Killer Hail!?!

Feel for you man..............goddam that just plain sucks, the cheap ass insurance company is only going to give you "replacement value" and that will not include all of the wonderful work you put into it............damn............

Yeah, I still have no pics of my car, but my friend has pics of his new RSX. It is just as bad as mine. It really sucks. Everyone here pretty much has a totalled car.

Can you post pictures of the RSX?

well, lets see pics of the RSC so we have an idea how badly your poor baby suffered.

My friend has them on his PC, but our email is down so he cant email me them. Just imagine a yellow golf ball car that has a broken front and rear windshield. Thats my poor P5 now.

My uncle got hit hard last year with hail on his 1999 Subaru Forester. Over 8 grand in damage. The glass was gone, taillights, mirrors, taillights, etc. They said that paintless dent removal could fix 95% of it. If the paint is not damaged, it is an option you oughta look into. You may just get her fixed!

I was wondering....

Is the roof part of the unibody? What exactly does the unibody contain in our cars? I think that will really determine if it can be fixed.

I checked the Kelly blue book on my car, it is about $16,500. So I am thinking that my car will be fixed by insurance, because I don't think the damage will run that much.

I work ITS traffic operations as a PIO for Colorado Dept. of Transportation in Denver. Our radar showed that storm front that ran from west of Albuquerque all the way into Texas and southern Colorado. I knew it was bad from the color intensity of the radar groupings around Albuquerque northeast.

I lived in Albuquerque a number of years ago and went through some nasty hail and sand storms myself. If your ride didn't get pounded with hail, it got sand-blasted. Have hail storms in Colorado every summer that result in dealers dumping lots full of dented cars.

We're heading to New Mexico tomorrow on business in my '5, as we do frequently. Fortunately, all we've hit is rain, snow or wind. No hail or sand damage so far. Touch wood...

(sad2) Bummer, Joey. Let us know how it turns out.
