My Big Turbo Build- Pictures

Well if anyone cares, I've got the car all back together and all is well. Im having some problems with my Standback, but I'm sending it off to Cp-e as they're always willing to help me out. I had some serious electrical problems, but those were fixed last night. On tonights agenda, I need to change my motor mounts (side and passenger) as well as change my WG spring.

btw how much was it to ceramic coat the mani, if you dont mind me askin?

Thanks man! I found this awesome local place that does ceramic coating for $95 a shot. With a 5 day turn around, it cannot be beat. Jet-hot charges a couple hundred and it took my buddies almost two months to get it back.

dude your next mod should be a shop vac! jk my hatch area looks like that constantly, and I always drag shop dust into the car. Impossible to keep clean working in a body shop!

Hahaha I know man, this car is getting a serious detail tomorrow now that I have the bumper back on.

^hey mad were you able to get pics of your IC piping? curious to see how it's routed beneath the car.

Im a few hundred miles away from the car at the moment, and will be for a few weeks. Its difficult to get good pics of the ic routing up on jack stands, it'd have to be on a lift or something to get a good overall shot. With the pics of the actual piping in the OP, you can see how it would go in the pictures.

Haha no problem man, no problem at all. No videos. The car is resting in the garage for a few weeks up on jack stands until the weather cools off. I had some standback issues so Cp-e is working on that and Ill hopefully be able to start tuning this beast this winter.

Just as an update.. I moved back down to Tucson a few weeks ago (going to school) and the car for now is just resting in the garage in Phoenix waiting out the heat. Ill probably bring it down here with me next month once it cools off and I get the rest of the parts I need.

On the same note as I mentioned I had some SB/PnP issues with the one I bought used, so it's over at Cp-e and they're taking care of me. I do have the whole full control flash package including their new 'wall' flash that essentially opens up the entire ecu.

Jake at Cp-e will be tuning my car as well. He's a great guy and knows his s***. He tuned Sean's car (socks) who made 433whp on a 3071 (which is quite a lot for that turbo) along with spnkr's car who is well into the 400whp+ range now, also using a 3071. Cageyvet (john) just made over 550whp last week with my same turbo (pte 5557) and he's using a bit smaller of a hotside. All three of these cars are tuned by Jake with the SB and all three flashes.

My personal goal for this car is to get some good numbers without pushing my luck. I want a nice sub 18psi tune and 380-400whp, which I can easily do. But since my bottom end is not built I don't want to take it too far. My torque curve is now moved up (which is what I personally believe kills these motors at high boost levels on stock k04) and no one has ever run as large of a turbo hotside on this car as I am right now.

Just waiting on the weather now, here in AZ its well into the 100's and we've still got a month or two to go.

Sell your K03s to some GTI kiddies. From what I've heard they will pay good money.

Nah, go for the GT turbos! I had the K04s in my S4, pulling about 460HP, but once I rode in a GT S4 at Autospeed, I quickly realized that the big void in my life could be filled with these turbos. I think these puppies pull down 700HP, and all I know is that I nearly shat my pants as the passenger (when you think the car can't possibly accelerate any further, it just keeps doing just that)

eventually I will go with a tial 770 kit or gt28s, but thats down the road when I have a bunch of money to drop into it. right now, its just a DD.

Unfortunately I didn't get anywhere on tuning so far =(

SB didn't reach me on time before I left town, and I won't be back until neeext weekend ( of the 1st ) and will begin tuning then.

Just got my hands on an HKS ignition amplifier, thinking about swapping out my plugs, and need to find an MBC!
