What's up! Just wanted to say hello, and introduce myself.

My name is Jesse, I'm a San Diego resident, and love GD chassis Mazdas :)

This is my 89 MX6 GT:

I've been working for around 9 months to prep it for a San Diego racing series, Formula B.

Formula B

It'll be competing in one show, three drag races, and three autocrosses, and per the rules of the series, has been built for less than $2000.

Modifications are:

Rebuilt OEM equivalent shortblock
Tokico Illuminas
Vogtland Springs
Water/Air intercooler
Mazda 929 wheels
2.5" downpipe/cat/catback
Front/rear strut tower bars

Most of this stuff was picked up on the cheap used, or made by me, with the exceptions being the struts/springs.

I still need to solder in a new chip to remove boost cut, as I'm stuck at 11psi until then. I'll also be running a nitrous fogger system for the drag race events, spraying what should be about a "75 shot".

Corksport and some of the more experienced guys at SDRev.com have been very helpful, offering input as to how to get everything I can out of the car under the $2000 budget restriction.

I may also be prepping another 89 GT that we picked up, but I'm still brainstorming a "fun" setup for it.

Anyway, looking forward to chatting with you all here, viva la MX6.

You must share some of your performance tips. I have an 89 MX-6 as well, ill tell you this car just wont tap out! 460000+ miles on it and you could never tell by how it runs and drives. I have restored the entire interior and plan on making some more horses now. If anyone has some good knowledge with these please share with me.

Im in Arlington now and my buddy lives in Bastrop. I have an 92 626 DX that I turbo's and drag race it. check out mx6.com or mazda626.net
