My 7

Not looking to make huge hp, so nothing bigger than a T04Z
but i will most likely be going with a dual bb GT35R. I expect to hit at least 400 whp with the possibility of more, just don't wanna stress the motor at this point because I'm trying to keep it on the street, and I don't have the funds for a motor build after this single conversion.

a GT35r would definitely be capable of giving you 400 to the wheels. I've seen it on several other cars.

I understand what you mean man, it sucks having to rebuild an engine if you **** it up or even blow it. Especially a rotary.... I know of a buddy who's rx-8 rotary popped and he had to get it fixed. Pain in the butt.

Turbos on rotaries will never make the hp claimed by the turbo. This being to the fact that rotaries generally flow more air than pistion engines. But i may be wrong.

The engines are really not that hard to build. Only a few moving parts, rotors, apex seals, eccentric shaft.. and limited number of ports.

The problem is finding someone to do it who knows what they are doing, and that is usually not here in az, except for AZRR, which is a good company.

I just dont have the resources to put more money into the car after spending all i have on a turbo, manifold, downpipe, two wastegates, and tuning, not to mention what it originally went in for before the twins failed, trans, aquamist water/alcohol, wheel bearings/studs, fuel filter and relocate, and lot of other maintenance crap.

So im not gonna push it at this point, i just want to get it back on the road, and at a later time, ill see what she is capable of

Oh yeah that's right, sorry I wasn't thinking, I forgot the way the rotary works how it sprays fuel in as it rotates around... heh I was thinking of all the piston type cars I've seen make 400+ on the GT35r, like Evos and WRXs (STI and otherwise).

[edit]
that's definitely the wisest choice, especially with financial concerns... just getting the car in running condition to get it back on the road, and worry about making big power at a later time. Awesome car man.... treat her right ;) I am definitely jealous.

Nice work of Art!!

Not big on bodykits especially on the already beautiful lines of the RX but that looks nice and clean!

Yea most people that own RX7 around here leave them stock body, maybe an r1 lip or hood. I just wanted something more unique to accent the lines, not destroy them, and give it a little more of an updated look.

The Mock-up Manifold came in last night... Still needs to be test fitted, but here are some pics to keep you busy until its finished = )

You are totally abusing that manifold like a drunken slore on prom night :-X

LMFAO... +1 with djark. I really would like an FD3S before I die.

You gave me a TON of ideas for my dream FD setup(FD was already my dream car). I love the chassis reinforcement. Put some poly mounts and bushings and that would be one harsh but amazingly fun ride.

its already got full upgraded busings in the rear. havent gotten to the front yet, but i have been trying to get in on a group buy of the delrin bushings for the whole car. I have been trying to save for some nice wheels, and possibly a cage, but after this single turbo upgrade, its gonna take a lot more saving!

Yup, the thumb is going in next... ;)

Hope everyone had a good 4th

The Bowler eh? 2 in the pink 1 in the stink ROFL

Your car is coming along bro....... it's always nicer to get a turbo and get the power going before getting a set of nice (expensive?) wheels.

its gonna take a lot more saving!

definitely something all Rx-7 owners can relate to. The car is comming along wonderfully and I look forward to seeing it finished(no Rx-7 is ever finished though). If it was CYM it'd be my vision of a perfect FD. In it's current state it is still amazing. Good luck and keep us updated.

yea i definitely have a lot more planned for the car, and after four years of investing into it, it still isnt going to be "done" any time soon.

never been a big fan of yellow cars, black is where its at for me = )

these are the wheels im saving for

19X12 in the back and 18X9.5 in the front

there is also a lot of things i want to do to the interior, however performance has always taken advantage over comfort for me with this car.

Those are beautiful, that gold color would go good with the "purple" from my Black Cherry Mica....... those look familiar, are those Volk GT-Us ?

Oh yeah, WORK is some nice wheels....... excellent choice man, that color is gonna look DED SECKZY with with your body kit and black paint. (2thumbs)
