so i read somewhere that coilovers from a 99-03 protege WILL fit in a 93-97 generation mazda MX-6. Does this mean that the MX-6 coilovers will fit in a protege? Has anybody heard of this? or actually done it? Need feedback ASAP

Can you call the manufacturer? If the part numbers are the same for both models of cars, then they are the same. Give them a call to verify.

Even if they're not exactly the same they may be easily modified to fit. My 323 can use 87 626 struts when a washer is used as a spacer

yeah. i will call them. Just because i found cheaper coils for a mx-6 than coils for a protege. thanks for the tips guys

so the part number thing didn't work. because yonaka makes coilovers for a mx-6, but they don't make em for the protege. thinkin about ordering em anyways. but what happens if they DONT fit?

The MX-6 sway bar end links bolt to the hub, not the coilover/strut. So unless you relocate the end link you'll have to run no rear sway bar.

im ok with no rear sway bar. thanks for the hint. and no i found the yonakas for a mx-6 for $630. on a tight budget cuz i basically got 2 projects going on right now

still, without knowing if they will even fit, its an expensive gamble. i would wait until you can afford a set of protege specific coils.

...or get a good set of struts. The stock handling of an ES is excellent to begin with. In fact, there aren't many cars I've driven that handle better.

Go with the mp3/msp suspension setup and there won't be a fwd car that handles better.

But seriously save up the extra $400 and get some yellow speeds. Cause if those don't fit your out $600
