MX-3 loose shifter

wasnt too sure where to post this but im looking at a 1993 mx-3 v6 5 sp. everything looks pretty good but the shifter has side to side slop, like when it is in gear i can move the shifter side to side as far as the console will allow. is this a common problem? is it an easy fix or am i looking at a trans rebuild? thanks

I hope you bought the car! The shift linkage on these cars has three sets of rubber bushings that beat themselves out every so often. Replacing them with OEM rubber or upgraded bronze bushings is a relatively easy and very cheap fix.MX-3 GSsarea great driving blast of a little care, and awesomely fast when upgrade to the later 2.5 liter V6.
