Only difference is here there seems to be a hell of a lot more automotive knowledge and guys figuring out how to fix some of the Speed's shortcomings.

You really think so? Granted, I only frquent SR20, Nissan/Sentra and G20 forums, so my experience is limited... but we sure had plenty of fixes for our stuff...

On topic though, I enjoy my car a bunch, I think it's great that our main concerns are for a suspension clunk and a little hesitation... knock on wood.

I also agree that I have heard the same things on other forums. For example, the Matrix that I traded in had complaints similiar to here. The 2zz engine had "weak" parts and issues even though it was reving to 8300 rpm and was suppose to last. The factory tires where crap, the dash rattled, the paint chipped, and so on. It basically comes down to most of us having a enough money to get maybe on or two cars at a time and wanting to be on the other side of the tracks. The grass isn't greener on either side, unless you have a true POS like an older Cavalier or Sunfire. I love our Mazda6 and I feel that the MSP is a great value for what I paid.

In the forums I have experienced what I said I believe holds true, but I can't really say Nissan Sentra forums. I've never visited one of their boards. However, given the similarity in price I could easily believe they have come up with many innovations. I've found that people who spend less than $20K on a car are the first ones to dig in with their own hands. Sorry, I shouldn't stereotyoe like that.

In all the MSP is a cool little car. It has some defects that IMHO Mazda should have NEVER let the cars leave the factory w/, but what can you do.

Im having some issues finally myself that Ill be taking it to the dealer about here soon. Im making a list so I can get several things done at once. Im just dealing w/ them till I get enuff of a list to make the trip worth while. I live over 50 miles from the MS dealer and dont want to make that trek more times than I need to. Until just recently Ive had NO issues at all w/ the car that everyone complains about. I still dont have most of them but some are starting to show up, and their bringing friends. (other problems)

Whenever you do something to a car other than what was originally designed theres gonna be a trade off. Even tho the MSP was sold the way it is, it is NOT the Protege that was originally designed. They pushed the car thru and got to production too fast IMO w/out enuff test and tune and R&D time on Mazdas part.

This is my first import (other than stock that is) and so far Im pretty pleased w/ it. Ive owned several Camaros, Jeeps and Chevrolet trucks in the past, the least of the bunch was 350 HP so I have an idea of what quirks come w/ performance.

Bang for the buck, you cant beat the MSP.

hey guys..be happy for you have a car that not all people can have..its a limited edition and is the first in the US and canada..i use to live in the Philippines and they inroduce the first MS in only the countries and i was happy my country is one of them...now im here in the states and have a protege and trying very hard to copy or ship all the parts here to make my car look like an MS...i have a 2nd gen...now if im repplacing my car it would definitely be a MS...i dunno just cant seem to replace it with some other one except its an MS...now im on a prowl for a new ONE..haha..just let me know if you see a good deal on one...thanks...about the other pocket rocket thing...i dunno..i only own mazda...a familia and now a hybrid protege/mazdaspeed...hehe
