The October issue of Turbo magazine is out and they have a full write up of their project MSP with an APEXi AVC-R. It sounds like a pretty awesome mod because of the amount of stuff you get in one package. Anyways to sum the article up; with boost at 7.36 psi they hit 191 whp and 175.7 lb-ft. (Keep in mind they also have an Ion FMIC, CAI and Turbo back exhaust). Next they turned the boost up to 8.82 and the MSP put down 210.2 whp and 196.8 lb-ft. Then they turned it up to 10.29 psi which was good for 219.3 whp and 196.8 lb-ft, but they had detonation at the top end. They mention the Unichip piggyback and how this would be a great addtition right around then but unfortunately Mazda didnt want them "running wild" with the car and it was almost the end of their loan period. So they got crazy with it one last time and bumped the boost to 11.76 psi and the ECU dropped a "stink bomb on the situation" by 5100 rpm they were already at 225 whp and climbing and they figured they would have hit 242 whp if they had've kept the same curve. They said that when they hit the highway the car was a monster !!(nana) It was a good article but it's too bad it will probably be the last we see of Project MSP in Turbo magazine... I can post some scans if you guys want, let me know!
