MSP Vs. GTI 1.8T

What POS chip to they have? My boss has a stage 2 chip from APR & he was dyno'd at 250HP/268TQ.

Stage II includes a cat-back exhaust and a different air filter. It's not just a chip.

Jetta sedans are built in Mexico, Jetta Wagons in Germany.
Golfs are built in Brazil.
Beetles are built in Mexico.
Passat, Phaeton and Touareg are build in Germany.

I was at ocean city MD and raced a new wolfsburg from a light and I only beat him by a fender when I was at 10 psi

I traded in my 01 GTI 1.8T for my MSP. I had an APR 1bar Chip, CAI, H&R Sport Springs, Bilstein Sport Shocks, 225/45ZR17 rubber, front and rear braces, and a 28mm rear sway. With all that, I still love my MSP more. My MSP is definitely slower than the 1.8T, but it handles so much better, even after all the suspension work I had done to my GTI.

When I got my GTI, it cost me $19.5K and it had a Sunroof, Heated seats, traction control, Monsoon Sound system, and Cruise Control, so it is a nicer (feature-wise) car. I think in 2002 they lowered the price a bit, and made some of those things optional, like the sunroof, the engines are mechanically the same though, albeit with a little more boost from the factory.

I got two recalls, one for the front window regulators, and one for the ignition coils. I did experience the window problem.

When I autocrossed with my GTI the one thing I felt it needed most was a LSD, because with 240lb-ft of torque, there was a lot of wheelspin...

Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the 1.8T is also one of the most tunable small engines you can currently get. It is nearly bullet-proof and can produce massive amounts of power and torque for it's size. The company that made my old VW chip, APR, has a Stage III turbo upgrade kit that puts out 290 horsepower without any engine strengthening. This system has been running reliably in A4's and Passat's for years... If it weren't for the rest of the car that surrounds the engine, I would have kept mine, however I prefer driving my car where I want to go, not to the nearest Service department.

Look out here comes ol "Leather Twat."

The 2000's were better cars - my GTI was built in Germany, 2001 and up were built in Brazil...you could tell the difference...mine was trouble free and modded...but anyway, all ancient history now.
