MSP turbo on ES?

Wondering what it would take to put a turbo kit from an MSP on to a ES? Where does the turbo oil line run from on a MSP? Where is the oil pan tap for the return line? Do any of the after market manifolds keep the turbo in the stock location so you can use the stock down pipe?

thanks for any info

Taps into the front of the oil pan, get a tube and have a muffller shop weld it in for you. The oil feed you can get from a oil filter sandwich plate. Coolant you can tap from the throttle body. Run the MSP ECU not an FMU, it runs better.

Oil feed comes off the back of the block where the stock oil pressure sender is (above and to the left of the oil filter)

Oil returns into the main bearing support plate above the oil pan

Stock replacement manifolds are the Thunder and Steedspeed

Is it, that sucks. To bad, it would have been fun to try for cheap. I need a replacement soon. My spool has seen better days.

One of our vendors actually has my car is replacing my mani, He asked if he could send my original out so he could have an upgraded one made from it.....Looks like we may have another cheaper option.....I'll chat with him further on this and see what he has planned. I didn't go into it too much since I'm more focused on the new brand of coil overs were going to be testing out!!!!!!!!!!

Go T3, there is no comparison between the two. Even a cheaper T3 can flow better than a GTRS.

turbo

Well i got a great deal on a brand new t3 was going to throw it on just for the heck of it want to try and do it as cheap as possible. If it gets to much just going to save it for my ford 2.3 project.

Is it easiest just to get the oil feed line and return lines from the dealer?
Does the MSP have a per cat like the ES does or is there only one cat?
Does either of those stock replacement manifold let you run external waste gate?

The msp has two cats, but they are both under the car. Just keep the one you have under your car now and you will be fine

Factory is on the girdle right above the pan, tap the pan for the cheapest way to go. But since you asked nicely here you go.

theres no such thing as a stock replacement manifold for the t3... the stock turbo was on the t2 inlet flange and a gt discharge to the downpipe. the t3 is a t3 inlet and a "ford-5 bolt" discharge. which explains why not many people run t3 - its really a top-to-bottom overhaul. the OBX has a EWG port and as long as youre aware that its a piece of junk you wont feel ripped off spending 150 on it if it breaks. its not like its 600 bucks and a piece of junk. but if youre even considering t3 and EWG, you would be silly not to buy this:

250 + shipping. quite possibly the best manifold ever made for the MSP.

orng1...nice hole on the block...that add hp? seriously though that sucks. gives you a reason to go forged now.

Speed hole, weight reduction, proof of power, conversation piece, I call it money. LOL Some one called me over to figure out why their car had died. Got them a new motor from a P5 and made it a speed off of the MSP parts.

...they called you over to see why it died, and they somehow missed the giant hole on cylinder 3? lol thats too good.

It's not as easy to see with everything in place.

I posted that picture so people can see that adding a turbo to this engine is serious business. If you do it right it can be a great thing for this car but not even mazda got it right. Mazda (second)

LOL... poor rod that went flying away...... Nice hole tho, and good find!!!
