Other than the LSD is there anything different between the MSP and regular protege trannies?
I'm pretty sure there isn't. Only thing I can think of is the gearing ratio might be a bit shorter in the MSP.
Yeah seriously. So the axles might be different? Would it be a different spline count or just beefier?

the weakest link is the LSD ... if you are planning on ever taking your tranny apart to do work and your LSD is not broken, get that thing welded. any welder should be able to add a few welds to it.
actually any welder cant jsut do it. you need the beads to be extremely clean, consistent, and balanced. you dont want Bob from Meineke touching your lsd.
You're right. but i'm giving the benefit of the doubt to the person that will be taking their LSD to an experienced and good welder.
