MSP transmission

I'm pretty sure there isn't. Only thing I can think of is the gearing ratio might be a bit shorter in the MSP.

this is what i found on the web about the upgrades in the MSP:
Gear ratios should be the same as non-MSP.

Transmission
Gear Ratios (:1) 5-Speed Manual
First 3.307
Second 1.842
Third 1.310
Fourth 0.97
Fifth 0.755
Reverse 3.166
Final Drive 4.105

Drivetrain

  • Limited Slip Differential (LSD) Super LSD by Tochigi Fuji Sangyo KK
  • Conical ring torque sensing type Torque Bias Ratio: 2.0 / Preset Torque 49 Nm
  • Heavy Duty Drive Shaft Diameter increased to 24mm from 22 mm
  • Clutch Factory heavy-duty clutch and pressure plate

(lol)

they have the nerve to call it "super lsd"

**** im laughing hard here.. :)

Yeah seriously. So the axles might be different? Would it be a different spline count or just beefier?

yeah S.U.P.E.R = seriously unreliable part everyone replaces

haha.. that's awesome.

the weakest link is the LSD ... if you are planning on ever taking your tranny apart to do work and your LSD is not broken, get that thing welded. any welder should be able to add a few welds to it.

actually any welder cant jsut do it. you need the beads to be extremely clean, consistent, and balanced. you dont want Bob from Meineke touching your lsd.

You're right. but i'm giving the benefit of the doubt to the person that will be taking their LSD to an experienced and good welder.

i forget which thread it is in, but i think "ItSlow" showed pics of his welded lsd. unbelievable how awful it was welded.

i was just going to have it welded but I'm just taking the plunge this time and buying the Quaife and never worrying about it again.

holy crap, that does look like s***!

Here's mine. I got it from PG, so I'm not sure who welded it, but at least they are even and not all over the place (not the best i've seen though).
