If you feel comfortable opening the case, tear it apart and look at the diff. If it's not broken, you can weld it if you really want to; personally I'd just save for a better LSD anyway since welding will destroy your tires on turns. And you may be able to get the flywheel re-machined if it's not scored too bad, ask around at a few mechanic's shops and they should be able to point you in the right direction.

you dont weld the actual spider gears. you weld the differential casing. the spider gears arent what fails. its the casing snapping off where the ring gear connects to kind of. id say just get a new diff though. but thats just me and im paranoid of the stock diff failing

all in all replace the clutch flywheel and the damn lsd to prevent future lsd failure to have the trans taking apart again. save money in the long run.

i am planing on put a exedy stage 1 and fidanza flywheel in it with a lsd... i have two questions... Do you think this would be a go set up (clutch and flywheel) or do you have a better option... and 2 how hard is it to rip the trans apart...

for the lsd what all do i need i know i need 2 differential bearings but do i really need all this stuff to... 2 axle seals, 2 shaft lock nuts, and input shaft seal... i can get the 2 axle seals for 20 and the two shaft lock nuts for 20 also.. but do i really need te input shaft seal... looking to order the mfac. lsd today from teammfactory.com for 650.00 bearings are 50.00... thats the best deal i could find thats a total with the axle seals and lock nuts 740 crossover was 809.00 but it comes with imput seals... thoughts please what should i do ...

The LSD with complete install kit was 855 for me and thats shipped to Hawaii. I imagine it would be cheaper for you!

So never mind on the flywheel ... after reading a ton of forums i dont want a light flywheel... cool... so the mfac. lsd 730 shipped, and the exedy stage 1 305.00 shipped is on its way total cost 1035.00... thanks once again for all the help i would have been lost and spent ALOT more money with out all of your 2 cents ... thanks again...

i didnt car for the spec clutches. my friend on his msp had one. i always recommend exedy.

yes you do need them. you are gonna kick yourself in the ass if you have to take out the tranny out cause the old locking nuts gave up or if the old oil seals failed. mazda said they couldnt get them??
