why do dealerships grill me every time i mention "flash"

just got off the phone with a service rep ,and made my appointment to be flashed next tuesday.
i swear he acted like im lying. and he wants to give me rental car to test drive mine etc.. and actually said that "chat rooms are a place people complain about there car even when theres nothing wrong with it" and hinted about how mazda speed owners are a royal pain. i never mentioned i read any thing on the internet . wtf thats lame .... yea i noticed some hesitation when i first bought my car, and i honestly thought it was normal .
and yea once i read about everyones issues with it . i decided to have my car flashed also .
i dont think theres any thing wrong with that , but now if this clown isnt able to reproduce some hesitation (shouldnt be hard)
he will deny my flash... any one have any advice on what i should do or say if i have any problems?

Most Dealers are assholes, and will do anything to avoid work that they don't get paid for. AKA warrenty work.

Find a dealership that doesn't think the customer is the enemy. That's the best advice I can give. I left my previous manufacturer (who will remain unnamed) for that very reason and if I find that Mazda starts treating me like the enemy when it comes to service I will sell the speed if necessary. So far, so good though.

I got a dyno sheet with proof of hesitation. Print it up and take it in! Say that it was you!!! You live in VA, it was done it VA. I don't think that there is a date on it! So if all else fails....do the ole' "Yeah, but I got proof thing!!!"
Or you could be dead honest and get a dyno done. That will show it. But it really shouldn't come to that at all.
Because of the problems with Mazda, I will not get another one. I don't care if they came out with a freakin beast of a machine with no problems....I just don't want another one.
I should have stuck with Subaru!!!

*cough* FORD! *cough*

also, demand that you ride with him for the test drive, so he can't go out and beat on it...
good luck

Yes. Contact Mazda North America and ask for the name & number of the regional representative for your area. Explain the situation and ask for a dealer willing to perform the service.

Although this isn't a TSB (yet), dealers are reimbursed for warranty work. Unless it's a simple, trouble-free job - they often end up eating the difference between the short time given by Mazda and the actual time taken.

If you really want to enjoy yourself, mention the "Mazdaspeed owners are a pain in the a** comment" to a regional manager and explain this isn't the reaction you'd expect from a dealer as it's the FIRST US Mazdaspeed product in existence.

Most dealers treat everyone equally - like stupid pieces of s**t. Throw it back at them.

Browns is normally pretty good I thought, heck they came it our MJM meet.

Course you can come down to Bill Britt in Fredericksburg, they are pretty cool about most things.

im actually working with browns of fairfax, there the ones i have appointment with on tuesday, allready they seem better then rosenthal in arlington, but then again not much

every manufactor has problems even toyota got 1. when I use to own one of those souless car, the dealership was so stuck up. when i was looking at my new car, the first line out of the salesman was do you want to buy 1 today, i said i'm just looking today, and he turned around and left. now that's what i called POS service and it happend @ toyota dealership, where every1 says toyota is reliable and blah blah blah...

Subaru has its problem Cirelle, but at least they don't have engine problems and bean counters running the company instead of Ford.

nomahh is right. If your dealer won't do it, the escalate it to the regional level. Its just a quick phone call. Be professional about it and mazda NA will take care of you. The squeeky wheel gets the grease.

I had a B2500 with issues that this approach worked for.

in there defense rosenthal of arlington has a very good sales department, i test drove cars at nissan (03 ser spec V )
toyota (04 celica GTS ) , subaru (03 WRX wagon)
and mazda (MSP) ...and by far i was treated the most kind and fair at rosenthal mazda . but there service guys all got a 2x4 up there ass

I know all of them have their issues, but I never had one with Subaru. They were great. Plus they have this like new owners meeting and you get mad crazy stuff! You just don't feel like you're getting reamed as much by them as you do Mazda!

Wow, I have major problems with Browns. But perfection with Rosenthal in Arlington hahahhahahaha. Talk to Bryan in Rosenthal Arlington. He's the only one with the tech that knows about the update. You can actually go this week if you call him. Plus it only takes an hour and a half.
