MSP Dyno - Stock PSI

im not tryng to s*** on anybody, i was just pointing out that 140whp is weaksauce, then some people got all mad. thats all.

What do you have for HP anyway, you never did answer.

I bought it used, but do a search on a thread named "new exhaust for the MSP" you will find it there.

well i have not dynoed my car since i changed my setup, but my old setup, which sucked ass, i dynoed 143whp at 4 psi, with my stock 155cc injectors,crappy intercooler,leaky piping, and just overall bad setup, now i changed the whole thing, with 305cc injectors,new intercooler,new piping, changed where my maf was placed, and am pushing 12-13psi, so if i had to guess i'd say somewheres in the 200+whp mark.

Sweet...., you shoulda just came out with that right away instead of hating. I would respect that 200whp a lot more if that were the case.

Either way, nice work on getting to 200.
 
he wasent saying any mazdapseed would lose to a SI ... he said a stock one at 140 whp will get their ass handed to them.
i would have to agree, 140whp is kinda weak, but not some mazdaspeeds on this board. theres ppl pushing 325whp and still climbing
 
civic si has 160hp at the flywheel i don't think a 140whp car would get their ass handed to them.
 
d0od im not gonna get into the msp bashing, but a stock msp is weaksauce, and will get ***** by an si, last year at the jersey meet, when i was at 4 psi i was walking all the stock madaspeeds that were with us in the drive, and my car was weak as s***.
 
not to join in or anything but those AFR's on the stock ECU are GARBAGE.....notice how when you hit boost it drops 3 whole points and BARELY recovers to an acceptable level after the pull is almost over.... With some form of decent EMS like the F10X you guys could probably squeeze another 10-15whp out of those stock boost settings.

p.s. My P5-S is right at 160whp right now and while it feels much stronger than stock it is NOT a race car...it's a slightly boosted 4cyl. Let's call a spade a spade and accept the fact that 140whp is not a whole to brag about...especially when you compare the compition, srt4 putting down 230whp stock, RSX-S 160-170whp stock, etc....i like the msp's but they are not rockets.
 
thats my point, i like the mazdaspeed dont get me wrong, but i would NEVER buy one,they are just junk to me, great in the handling dept, but as soon as you try and squeeze any usable power from them they blow up.

so junk as in they are weak? like they make 140whp stock? and they explode past a certain power level? funny, i know 2 people making 250-260 whp on the stock rods and pistons and stock turbo. All that is needed is fuel managemnt and a good tuner.

lets see, people got their msp's new for $16,500 dollars. Best fwd handling car that car and driver had ever driven at the time for the price...

how much was a 1.6 Lx protege brand new? oh, $13,230 dollars. Thats a price difference of $3,270 dollars. The msp has 60 more bhp,a turbo, a better looking body, more aggressive suspension, rims and high performance tires, great stock soundsystem, etc.

i think that is a bit better value than your Lx there.

i dont think the msp's are "weaksauce" but possibly some of the douche's that drive them are..
 
yes the stock A/F do suck mine drop off the cart.
