msp build parts (preview!!....:)

Bah, awesome numbers man. I just dyno'd today and only made 207 whp and 209 wtq on a dynojet :( This is after I put down 215 whp and 220 wtq in April before installing my MAM manifold, Perrin fuel rail and turbolife FMIC.
thanks man! hmm, do you think your motor is losing compression?

Why? They seem to be doing well. What good facts you got?

fredo, i talked to him last night about it. He told me that some guy brought his rx7 to get tuned at something happened to the motor. Anyway, I'm already invested with CFT and so far the car is running really nicely. I'm going back to the shop tomorrow.

All it takes is one guy to come in with a poorly built or neglected ride to a dyno shop and blow an engine, then their rep goes down the drain. Happened here to the one and only shop around here. Now I have to drive 4 hours to the next dyno.

I blew my motor on that same dyno, but I sure as hell did not blame the tuner. (it was stock)

People like to blame others for their misfortunes, but in the end it isin't the shop, its them and they know it.

yea sometimes lol

if the shop advances timing on a boosted car without any kind of predetonation defense and it causes the motor to blow while on the dyno....it most definately is the shops fault lol

but I do hear ya on that....it happens a lot on this forum too....if a vendor messes up one transaction then their rep goes down the toilet even if they have a thousand excellent transactions to counter balance that...just the way life works =\

now with the stock fuel pump, how high of cc's can you get for injectors before the fuel pump is maxed out?

Damn dude, just noticed you got the goodies put together and running! Cant wait to see your numbers with everything on and finely tuned :) Nice work...

If the shops advances the timing more then 2deg at a time, even more before establishing a some what rich tune, then I wouldn't be going there ethier. lol Timing is VERY important, but even more deadly. But also the owner should be educated himself on the tuning process too, so he can keep his eye on things. All boils down to " Gots to pay to play"

thats very true, but when a shop has been responsible for more than one failed motor due to their negligence then something is wrong. There is a reason why CFT has a horrid reputation in orlando. Many cars that have been built and running fine for months go there and suddenly they spin bearings and detonate. Its not just on customer here and there, its a lot of people that walk away unhappy. I hope sandspeed the best I really do, I merely warned him because I dont really want to see him have to rebuild his motor a third time. CFT has been known to tune way too aggressively for a certain cars setup.

how much boost are you planning to run bro?

7psi and then 14psi on the stock intake manifold. After we got those numbers, swap the stock IM for Rich's IM and then dyno at 7psi and 14psi again. We need to see the differences between the two manis at the same boost levels.

Sounds like then they don't know how to tune very well then. If they are tryin to push a car out "fully tuned" in 1-3 hours thats their wrong. I'd say its more like 3-6+ hours.

Anyways, I don't want to clutter sandspeeds thread up about tuning, cause I could talk about it all night. lol

Thats a great idea to see the gains of that mani. Then crank up the boost!!! lol
