So I hit a good sized rock or block of concrete or frikkin' boulder or whatever it was in the middle of the street. It was roughly the size of a jagged, gnarled softball. Or a really ugly baby's head. Why it was there, I do not know. I was going too fast and had to short of a notice to get around and I hit it head on. My JDP front lip held up remarkably well, though it'll need a spot of clearcoat eventually.

This boulder, however, didn't pass under the car; it decided to stay a while and dragged and bounced off everything protruding from the car's underbelly making some of the most ungodly noises I've ever heard. I immediately slowed down and looked for a safe place to pull over so that I could jack the car up. As I was pulling over, about 30 yards later, the rock got bored and worked itself free, but not before bouncing off any and everything under the car a second time and exiting UNDER my rear tire...

As I pulled back on the street, I listened and felt for anything that may be amiss, but all seemed well. It wasn't until I was backing into my parking space back at work that I noticed something was wrong; The springiness in my gearshift was gone. It slots into gear just fine with no funny noise or vibrations, it's just not "springy" when in the neutral position.

So my victory was pyrrhic at best...

Any ideas? Advice? Suggestions?
