MS3 vs. 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT-4

I am in the 1/4 that doesn't flame. If you are using the 3/4ths argument to justify why you said what you said, that's weak sauce. I think you have a lot of expertise to offer (given the performance of your previous vehicles and your ability to drive them) and would hate to see that ruined with animosity towards others. Especially when it's relatively unprovoked.

It was provoked on the basis of the response from the inexperienced children among the owners. Ill apologize for my attack of his religious faith, that i can do.. However, i wont apologize to any of these little assholes who talk like they know what fact is fact. If any MS3 owners live in my area, meet up with me... Ill give you the ride of your life.

Next stop... CS Downpipe, GHL Exhaust, TMIC...

Once i get a pnp tuning solution, turbo upgrade.

Why not bring your MS3 to a BMW CCA HPDE and see how M3s you can blow off?

just kidding. I figured it would be funny and break up the argument. PEACE!!

I had a chipped M6 making @320 hp at the flywheel prior to ordering my 140 hp Club Sport, and the Club Sport is just as much fun to drive. In fact, it made me a much better track driver since I didn't have a ton of hp to cover up my mistakes.
An E36 M3 and an MS3 would be pretty evenly matched, as contemporary road tests show similar acceleration times, not to mention nearly identical roadholding, slalom, and braking numbers. The best driver would win on the strip AND the road course.

Once again, no argument from me there, although I think stock for stock and equal drivers an M3 would have the edge especially on a road course. But for what it is, the MS3 is a heck of a car.

Youre telling me im full of crap. I dont have any reason to lie to ANY of you.. Considering i have been racing for over 20 yrs for one and number 2, i KNOW how to drive. Thats like me telling you my lightning smokes everything thatr i come up against, yet you will tell me differently.. Never under-estimate a driver. But if you all believe it didnt happen, than i guess you are all correct...

As far as your religion goes, its in your sig... I dont need to see it... You put it there.

I make no bones about my faith but I didn't say that the Benz was faster than your MS3 because Jesus told me so. I was arguing about facts not faith.

Once again I don't deny that youbeat those other drivers. Bravo on beating them but what I am saying once again for the last time is wether you like it or not, stock for stock, their cars are faster than yours which you say is not true.

Hey man, I wish you much success in modding your car. I hope it eventually runs a 10 sec quarter if thats your wish. But trying to insult me and my faith for just stating what is a fact thats as plain as the nose on your face is just silly.

You know, ive never met a BMW club that was worth hanging out with... I dont think ill have a problem blowing off very many Beemers.. You speak as if those cars are actually fast.. Do you know what a fast car really is?

Welp, theres a thing called Murphy's law... just because a scientific calculation says it should be beat, doesnt mean its going to happen... Besides the fact, my car was stock for about a week.. At this point in time, the games on. Again, im sorry for beating down your religious praise of the lord(beer)

My opinion of cheapish/fast car owners:

-Mazdaspeed/MS3=Classy (or should be)
-VW GTI=Classy
-Caliber SRT-4=Trashy
-Neon SRT-4=Slightly less trashy
-Cobalt SS-Normal
-WRX-Normal
-Civic Si=Ass Hole
-Ion Red line=The trashiest of them all...by FAR!

Purely opinion, except for the Saturn. That is a FACT.

What everyone is saying is that regardless of your level of knowledge and superior driving skills, calling others, who are simply expressing their opinions, "inexperienced children", "assholes", "Bible thumper" etc. portrays an immature character on your behalf.

If you can't see that yourself, I honestly don't believe you will enjoy your stay for long. *^_^*

Just as I suspected; you can only go fast in a straight line. And you compensate for that by insulting anyone and everyone who disagrees with you.
Nice.

My opinion of cheapish/fast car owners:

-Mazdaspeed/MS3=Classy (or should be) - Mostly True, there are some exceptions. Sometime, some of these guys resemble the SRT 4 and Civic Si guys in terms of attitude. To tick them off, just mention motor mounts

-VW GTI=Classy - More like snobby. Think their gods gift to the hot hatch nation. Once again just my opinion. This goes double for R32 owners. To tick them off, just ask them about their electrical systems.

-Caliber SRT-4=Trashy - Can't make an assesment yet as the car is not released. Its SUV-ish design might attract a more mature customer. To tick them off, talk about ride height and tupperware

-Neon SRT-4=Slightly less trashy - True, but most of the time thier rides can back it up. Although they do tend to tell tall tales of walking Enzos, Carerra GT's, Bugatti Veyrons. To tick them off, talk about power windows.

-Cobalt SS-Normal - Actually most Cobalt SS owners I know are nice guys. They know the limits of their ride and some of them put down killer numbers and look dead stock. Don't see a lot of them around here though. To tick them off talk about the chevy cavalier.

-WRX-Normal - Pretty nice guys also. Rode in a hella fast Modded STi when I worked at a dealership. Eye opening experience. To tick them off, talk about Evo owners.

-Civic Si=Ass Hole - Pretty much no argument here. To tick them off, mention the word Torque.

-Ion Red line=The trashiest of them all...by FAR! - Don't know any of these guys
Purely opinion, except for the Saturn. That is a FACT.

Made some amendments. And you forgot these guys

Evo Owners = Almost worse than Civic SI owners except their cars are actually fast. Tend to have inflated egos although there are a lot of nice and very knowledgeable Evo guys out there. To tick them off, talk about STi guys

MSP Owners = Best guys/gals EVAR! Most loveable, honorable bunch of guys of people you'd ever hope to share a forum with. And I'm not just saying this beacause I'm a fellow mazda owner (peep). To tick them off mention zoom zoom boom!

And I woul be remiss not to mention us P5 guys: We don't really talk much because or cars are slow (with some very very fast exceptions) but we take solace in knowing we drive the best looking mazdas around and that all our fellow forum members are jealous of our wagons hawtness. To tick us of mention that 99% of cars on the road including that dodge grand caravan in the left lane are faster than we are.(braindead

Oh, so youre saying because a person is in a BMW track club, they are superior drivers now and so are their cars? LOL... I raced mustangs in open track for years... i got one word for ya.. " GR-40 "...

Re-read.. the word " FACT " was used... not.. opinion.

Take a chill pill. *^_^*

I'd rather read the U.S. Geological Survey Coastal Science Monthly than to read pointless arguments on an online forum.

I believe the point I was desperately trying to get across was, "chill out a little." *^_^*

These "my car is faster than yours" threads have been around since the dawn of the car enthusiasts forums. When some of the people have used the word "fact", they were probably basing their argument on the fundamental laws of physics. While there are many factors contributing to the overall performance of a vehicle - power, weight, gearing, drag coefficiency, type of tires, the list goes on and on - given the similar conditions in a controlled environment, the outcome will be heavily based on the vehicle's power to weight ratio. That is to say that if my car weighs 3100lbs and your car weighs 3300lbs, but my car has 263HP and yours has over 330HP, given the situation your car will "always" be faster. In the world of science, when something consistently has the same outcome, it becomes a law. No one questions the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics because that's the way it always is - try having a debate with an evolutionist with that one. Therefore, if I wanted to use a strong wording such as "facts", I'd want to base it on solid laws of physics like the example I just mentioned.

Notice I wrote "a controlled" environment. If I were to race Michael Shumaker in an RSX (my last car) with my MS3 around the Nurburgring, I'd bet that he will undoubtly leave a huge gap even with the slower vehicle. No one would question that based on the light year difference in our skills. Take those same cars to a quarter mile drag race again with Mr. Shumaker. He may drive Ferrari F1 cars, but my MS3 has a much better chance of winning this one soley based on the laws of physics. Now... if I can just get him to come out and run laps around the track with me, that'd be awesome. *^_^*

LOL you need to talk to some RX-7 owners:

RX-7 FC, down to earth- A good group of people, usually work hard on their cars. Very knowledgeable, most generally learn the ins and outs of rotary, most of these guys are very cool. You will find the occasional owner with RWD superiority complex and who think they can drift. To piss them off just mention V8 swaps and torque.

RX-7 FD, think they are God's gift- These guys think that cars were built by the hands of God or Chuck Norris. They're as bad or worse than the Neon SRT-4 guys. They DO have fast cars but the attitude that comes along with in is not cool, FD's are expensive so these guys usually have some cash. With a few cool owners as exceptions. To piss them off just mention Zoom Zoom Boom or reliability, suggesting a V8 swap should work as well.

RX-8 FE, either clueless or cool- These guys come in two types those that thought the RX-8 looks cool and bought just because it's a sports car, they don't know anything about rotary engines and they soon run the engine out of oil. Then their are the cool guys, who always wanted an RX-7 but needed something practical, or wanted something that handled very well, was quick, had a couple of backs seats, and LOVES the sounds of rotary at 9,000 rpms. To piss these guys off say oil pcm recall, as them about torque works well, as does mentioning the 350z.
