hey as you guys might of heard im in the market for a new car. GTi or MS3. i know that the GTi can use APR for its ECU and VAG-COM for changing lil details like daytime running lights. my ? for u guys is what would the mazda use for the ECU chippin process and does it have a version of VAG-COM compatible with mazdas? i apologise for any annoyance that i may bring to this forum. i am a new buyer and want to get a nice car. thanks in advance.

I believe all current mazdas (except the tribute, regular mazda 6, and B series trucks) are built in Japan.

Cobb and Vishnu have programs in the works, the vishnu has showed gains of 70 whp and was dynoed at 290 whp with no other mods. Cobb is supposed to release access port in the spring for the speed 3. You will be able to change programs from tuned to stock very easily and it should cost around 700. Although the aftermarket for the GTI is already huge, tuners are embraseing the speed 3 and there should be a nice selection of products to choose from. Have you driven both cars yet? You seem to be struggling with deciding on a car. I have owned both vw's and mazda's and here's the deal. VW is a cheap luxery car and mazda is a cheap sports car. You should drive both and ask yourself if you want a more comfortable ride or a sportier ride. I considered a GTI before getting my speed 3, but could not bring myself to buy another unreliable piece of crap from VW.

Maybe something like the bov fittings and the intercoolers seem to fit both cars, but as far as intakes, exhausts, ecus the parts have to be ms3 specific to the best of my knowledge.MKV252 said:
