MS3 model/price

I was just wondering if you guys would get the grand touring model for the MS3?

I would just get it because of the speaker upgrade.

Also, if you preorder your MS3 is there any hope of haggling the price?

Thanks

hahaha, well sorry russell. Only reason I asked was because jtom was asking about the GT model, once I was wondering about myself. And I'm sure there is nothing stopping you from trying to haggle the dealer, now wether they will follow your lead or not is up to them. Not something that will have a yes/no answer.

Now, if you wanted to know the answer to whether or not I would go with the GT version, then yes, as long as pricing doesnt go over $25000.

I am getting the Sport. I decided the extra $$ for Bose, HID, Auto-wipers, and Leather wasn't worth it. I'll put my own system in, and I'm not all that fond of leather interior. s*** gets too hot in the summer.

From what I've read, the Bose system is not all that spectacular. I've never heard it - just speaking from what I've heard from others. I think I read the head unit is a Clarion, but I may be wrong.

I put a $500 deposit down, but I signed no contract on the price. That could work either way - it could give me some "haggle room" or it could give the dealer the opportunity to bump up the price. I am figuring on paying MSRP anyway, so hopefully it will be a wash.

Can you even change out the stock deck? I thought you couldnt.
Yes you can, Metro makes a kit that replaces the whole dash cutout. And the BOSE system is horrible, definitley not worth the money.

I don't know what your beef is with the 3's bose system.... it sounds great! if you're one of those people who want the whole car to shake while listening to ludicrus or some s***, then the bose system is "crap"... it's designed for BALANCED sound quality and it's pretty damn good at it... it's not the best, but it's way better than the non-bose s*** they put in the 3

installing a "better" aftermarket system is a PITA in the newer mazdas, plus you kill the ambient temp sensor display as well as the clock... not unless you spend $400 for a dash kit in japan that comes with a special control module to retain climate control, the display, and other s***

the MS3 GT's seats are *not* full leather... its just the sides/bolsters are leather... the rest of the seat is still cloth... haven't you seen the pics?

and yes, the stock bose system's headunit is a clarion

the HIDs, auto wipers and lights are worth it to me... the factory HIDs have a MUCH better beam pattern than the non-HID lights... retrofitting is just not the same!

I know the seats aren't full leather. But partial black leather gets hot too. Again, not a big fan of leather, so either way...

As for the HIDs... I haven't had them for 12 years, don't need them now.

And I don't need a computer to tell me when it's raining. I have two perfectly good eyes. When it rains, I can turn on my own wipers.

But, to each his own. For me, the Sport is all I need.

I don't *need* HIDs either, but it was better so I got them

by your logic, we don't need new cars because the one we already have is fine.... hell we don't need fuel injection either

only reason to get them is for better safety, simple as that... the computer doesn't "tell you" when it's raining... you adjust the sensitivity of the sensor and it turns on the wiper automatically and how often depending on the amount of rain... you can still use the wipers manually if you want... only reason to have auto wipers is for variable intermittent, which isn't available in many mazda3 models... maybe they have that in the sport model, dunno

as for the leather getting hot, it's no big deal... tint your windows and get a sun shade for the windshield when you park the car and you're fine... you really don't know what "hot" is... it IS hot down here and I have no problems with leather because I've been doing those things

(lol) haha...dont mind him, hes just hating cuz he could'nt afford the Touring package. Its alright homie, I wanted a sunroof real bad too and cudnt have one so settled for a turbo instead. (jerkit)

bose in my ms6 sounds like s***. No highs or bass all mids. Sounds like a bad old 80's clock radio. The bose sounds awful compared to the msp kenwood.

I love the navigation in my cx-7, and for my taste, the Bose stereo is pretty good for me. Although I am not going to beat the neighbors with 20 speakers in the trunks of their Caprices, it will do fine. That out of the way, let's get back to whatpeople have locked in for the price of their ms3 out the door, so those of us still looking will get an idea of what is possible. Another thread had somsone getting their ms3 for msrp AFTER taxes and such.

Like I said, to each his own.
