MPS rear bumper vs. North American MS3 rear bumper...

So has anyone entertained the idea of replacing their NA spec rear bumper with the more svelt, sidemarker-less Euro-market MPS rear bumper?

I think they look way better and am contemplating looking into doing this sometime in the future...

I would imagine that at least the rear crash foam (and most likely the re-bar itself) is different on the MPS than it is on the MS3, so that would have to be accounted for. I just like how it looks way less "park bench-like" than the NA spec rear.

Any thoughts?

Here is the MPS (borrowed pics from a different thread):

And here is the "park bench" MS3:

not worth it... i bet it has something to do with the impact resistance... they know we drive like idiots in america... so they have to prepare for it... lol

It looks like a reg. 3. I think it looks cut off or something. Plus, I dont think the small spoiler goes with the car. But that is my opinion for not spending the money to do it. It doesnt look BAD though.....

honestly, it throws the look off, the front looks alot longer to me in that red car pic...anyone else notice that? jstu cuz the rear end is so short

I think I like the standard NA bumper better. The other one makes the car look like a dog/cat with it's tail clipped.

the north american rear bumper is rated for higher speed impact (crappy north american drivers possibly) versus the Euro and Japanese rear bumper. Evo owners swap there north american rear bumpers for Japanese rear bumper all the time. required parts are bumper, impact beam, foam insert. somthing to note is most of the time the exhaust sits a lil different.

Well I don't see myself doing this anytime soon, but if I ever need a new rear bumper (heaven forbid) I'm definitely going to look into it.

I think it looks MUCH cleaner.

I used to own two Focuses and had a Euro front end conversion done on my first one after a minor front end collision that required the replacement of my bumper. It looked SOOOOO much better.

imo it looks better...but well...whoever has an american MS3 can double as a flat bed in the back too ;)

I like it but I don't think it flows as well with the way the front of the car is designed. It has less depth (as far as I can tell), but I do LOVE the rear side bumper markers being nonexistant.

Actually, the protrusion of the MPS bumper matches the front bumper protrusion much better than the NA spec rear bumper. The front bumper barely sticks out at all.
