MP3 runs from cop....

Isn't a cop coming after you for doing something illegal considered pursiut, lights or no light?
And Isn't doing your best to get away from an officer when you know him to be after you considered avaiding an officer?

it's evading an officer, and no it isn't. Must be lights. Otherwise a cop could just drive behind you, and you coudl turn to go home, and they coudl charge you with evading an officer. Lights must be on.

I say that you did a great job. Screw everyone else who freaks out about driving fast on the streets. Like they've never gone over the speed limit.

Dont think we got a lot of people on here who report us for out postings.

There was such a person on a WRX board:
Short Story: Guy's engine blows, he goes to his dealer but they wont fix it cause of mods. So he takes them off and goes to another dealer and gets the car fixed. Posts about it. Someone on the board went ahead and report him to every dealer in the area.

Grrrr:mad:

Since I'm majoring in Criminal Justice, I have an some knowledge some may not have. What I did was only illegal in the fact that I was speeding. It was not evading an officer. The law states that the car in pursuit MUST have lights signifing its intent to stop/pursue the vehicle in question. The officer that hit me with radar NEVER had his lights on.

About the radar detector being bad--
(I also have an upper hand here being in CJ)
There is a lot of new technology available for "stealth" radar guns. These are not new bands, they are simply radar guns that use existing bands and remain in "standby" position, then at the officers choosing, immediately go active and detect radar. In this case, the only purpose my radar detector served was to let me know I was about to get a ticket. The only time a radar detector is worth anything is when an officer leaves their radar gun on, mostly at night, or when driving down a road. They never- ALMOST never will give themselves away by leaving their gun on while setting up a speed trap. This is what the officer did to me. He was stealth until he set his radar gun to active.

I tried that on my last one. I was on the interstate at night and my radar started beeping. I slammed on the brakes but it was too late I saw him in the median turned turned towards traffic and then he started to move. I thought it will take him a minute to get out in traffic and turn around. I floored it flew around a few cars, jumped off the exit ramp and boom he was right behind me. he said, "was you trying to get away from me son" I was like nah I was just getting off the exit. yup got a ticket but oh well. I got it dropped.

Sure many of us speed...

....but when you're doing it to get away from a ticket and on RESIDENTIAL streets (you know where families with kids usually live) that's where I have a problem. Someone's kid chases his ball out in the street and ends up being your hood ornament.

I'm curious why the car in front was "ashing" on your car? Do you think they're just predjudiced against MP3's? Or were you tailgating?

Stop driving like a jackass!

i think you need to look at more of my post's, they are not all negitive, its not my fault that there are so many stupid people on the road. going 70 on a residential road is not smart i dont care how good of a driver you are or how much of the law you think you know. all it takes is for some kid on a bike or something to ride right out in front of you. I know you think it will never happen to you or that it wont happen at all but it does. and if you really think it was cool to do what you did then you are a jackass, its people like you that have no respect for others and dont think about what you are doing that deserve get pulled over and **** up there cars and all the other s*** that goes along with driving like that. yeah you got away with it this time but you might not be so lucky next time, and the next time i hope you get caught or you wreck your car . i just hope you dont hurt somone else in the process.

and i am sure that everyone has gone over the speed but driving like a jackass is not the same as going 75 in a 65 on a highway

thats the dumbest thing i ever heard, im sure many people have done that plenty of times like myself but you should try passing a cop at 120 mph on the expressway like me then tahts a story

but yea all to often there is a kid or a car in the middle of the street, ive seen people die because of stuff like that but next time a cop decides to pull you over for soemthing think twice before speeding away ;) you wont b lucky evry time

how does one go about "flicking smoke", i been smoking since i was 16, and i dont think i have EVER "flicked" smoke.(rofl)

you would have to be right on his ass if you were getting ash on your car, i would have slowed down to like 15 just to piss you off, and i would not have let you pass me. and if you continued to be a jackass i would have invited you to the side of the road for a good old ass kicking, but i am sure you would have run away from me since that is what you like to do

Speed limits are posted for your own safety as well as others. You can't predict the unpredictable. I can see cruising on the highway, going 10-20mph over the limit. But when you get off that exit, its a whole different world.

Making fast decisions like switching lanes w/o warning, taking off ramps at insane speeds, or making quick turns down residential neighborhoods are what cause accidents...

...one of the hardest things to learn as a driver is patience. Anyone can drive fast. Before you speed, think about it. Are you really in a rush to get somewhere? If you ask yourself that question every time your speedo passes the limit, I guarantee 9 times out of 10 the answer will be "no." So if you're not in a rush, why risk your own life and the life of others just to drive a little faster? Chances are you will only gain a few minutes of time by speeding anyway.

What do you mean by "i'm sure you would have run away from me since that is what you like to do". ARe you insinuating that you're a cop since he ran away from a cop?

I don't know how old you are but I'm willing to bet that one point in anyones life (usually when their younger) they go out racing around in their cars. Totally not caring what could happen. Not until you get older that you realize how dumb that stuff was. Some people can't take advice and have to learn the hard way. So I'm just wondering and be honest. How old are you? Have you never in your life done anything similar to this. Racing on streets you shouldn't have been or runnin from cops (not necisaraly in a car) or hell, even drank underaged?

That is the most b****-maid s*** I have ever heard. (Sorry for the delinquent language). But seriously, reporting someone to a dealership is really messed up. I flat out call that being a hater.

As you should know from just saying what you did- road rage is also illegal, and in some cases, more dangerous than what I did (going down a THREE lane road in a residential area- note the limit was not 25, but 35- this should tell you its fairly spread out neighborhood). Road rage many times can result in death because of someone being cutoff, or hitting their brakes (as you are talking about, resulting in a collision or roll over. Also changing lanes eratically is grounds for "reckless driving" a major offense. What you are talking about is more dangerous than what happened with me. Just wanted to make sure that you understand the concept of what you are saying, because it sure doesn't seem like it.

Well Mr. Smartypants, since you're such an expert in law and order, did you know that tailgating is illegal? If you wouldn't have been breaking the law (tailgating the guy in front of you) none of this would have happened!!

-the guy in front wouldn't have started "flicking smoke" at your car
-you wouldn't have got pissed
-you wouldn't have angrily sped past him and been radared by the cop
-you wouldn't have had to go autocrossing through someone's neighborhood
-you wouldn't have come on here to boast about it.

No reason to get all excitied and start name calling. Just ease up. A few things- I wasn't tailgating, and I never said I was. I don't know if you were in dreamworld or what, but I never said that.

1)I would have got radared no matter what, I have a yellow car and the cop isn't sitting there just waiting for a certain person to pass him, he radars everyone he can. Simple rule of law enforcement.
2) Have you ever been jealous of someones car or what they have? Thats why people key cars sometimes- they like what you have and can't have it. This is why I'm assuming the person was being this way and smoking in that way.
3) If I wasn't tailgating, I still would have gotten hit with the radar, and still could have gotten a ticket. As I said, the speed went from 45 to 35, making this a frequent "speeding" area, thus the cop picks people who slowly decelerate rather than hit the brakes hard to slow down for the change.
4)there is no law in Michigan that I am aware of that explicitly says "tailgating is illegal". It is recommended in drivers education in this state that for each 10mph of speed, one car lenth in space is given. (OT- are you telling me you've NEVER tailgated someone? riight).
5) I wasn't pissed at his speed, I was pissed at his mannerisms.
6) I would have "sped" by him anyway, since he was going 10 under.

Dialup, there is no need to get all "in your face". What I did was wrong and bad, I don't deny that.
I just don't need people like you to complain about me or to throw it in my face.

It's better to get the ticket then to try and evade. If the cop busts you things will be much worse. And don't think just because he didn't turn on his lights, you would only get a speeding ticket. Cops lie all the time when they think your guilty. I should know; it happened to me. Damn cop kept me chained to a pole in the station house for an hour while he looked up the laws to customize his report into a conviction. That bastard never signaled me to pull over.

That's alright, didn't mean to ruffle your feathers, just trying to show you another perspective.

Trust me, tailgating is illegal and you can get fined for it. Yes I have sped before.
