MP3 player

What's the best way connect my mp3 player to my CX7 Sport. All the discussion here is about Ipod, however, i don't own an ipod.
Is FM trasmitter my best option? Just need a simple solution.
Thanks

the transmitter is basically your only solution, right now .. . .

there is no aux port for a line in for any other equipment

Look at Crutchfield.com Buy a "wired" FM transmitter. It attaches in-line with the antenna cable so it sends the signal directly to the FM radio; hence better fidelity.

Will the installation of FM transmitter involve any drilling to cause any cosmetic blenishes? Cuz it's a leased car, I'm not sure if i'm allowed to do this.

Tks again

No. You just need to unplug the co-ax antenna connector to the radio and plug this transmitter in line. Crutchfield has a picture of it on its web site. The only problem you might have is removing the radio from the CX-7
However, you could find an installer.

After a little research and totally not impressed with the FM transmitter solution I found this product - Audio Link USB MP3 Player Integration Kit.
Not only can it play a MP3 media device it can also play MP3 files via a USB
flash drive.

The unit costs $139 and plugs into the back of the radio. One downside however is that this will NOT work on radio that have NAV or Satillite radio option since the kit uses that port connection.

I found some diagrams on how to remove the head unit so I'll let you
know how it works.

For all you iPod fans, RPM also offers a kit to integrate your iPod.

Not sure if its any better than the version Mazda is now offering though.

I have the iPod unit from The RPM Store, works great, sounds fantastic. cx7mabster this is the way to go. I highly recommend the mp3 version if an iPod is not for you.

Great, I can't wait to try it out. Did you install the unit yourself?
Any installation procedure recommendations I should be concerned
with? I'm a little nervous about removing the Head Unit with
scratching it or breaking off clips.

thanks

I just completed my Audio Link USB MP3 Player Integration kit installation over the weekend and this thing rocks. The install was a snap but be VERY
careful removing the Head Unit. I used a flat head screwdriver with masking tape but use a flat plastic like a puddy knife if you can. Its well worth the
$139. Don't waster your money on a FM transmitter.
