MP3, MSP, P5 chips/tuners

Scheduling has been the biggest headache. I still wanted to find some earlier Mazdas to work with as well.

I swear 99.9% of all interest has been from the MSP peeps.

I'm glad you are still game for trying to get this up and going. I'm sure some of the forced induction Proteges that are not MSP's would still be interested. Although most of them have gone to some sort of tuning device, future turbo people would be interested depending on what you can mess with.

I didn't even realize that existed. Oh well, I'm ok with my MP3 ECU for now.

I just found it the other day when I was looking for things to buy down the line. I'm starting to save for a turbo, and I've got a few other things to buy also, so I'm not 100% sure I'm gonna get this when it comes out.

I'm wondering if this is going to turn out with results similar to this product here , if so it could be interesting. Anyone hear of reviews/results with this?

I can guarantee it will offer more then Hyperping... The SCT products have always proven superior. Why? SCT was started by some of the best Ford tuners in the US. A couple of them use to work for Ford doing calibration. Call it an inside edge ;)

But, we still need to finish one of these and get it on the dyno...soon!

Just stumbled across it, but still waiting to see results from ya. It still sounds promising. If you need a test car, PM me, as I'm still interested.

I just PM'd petec offering to let him use my car, although it's non-turbo, for whatever testing/tuning he needs to do.

*Bump*

Im checking on my ecu. It might be alittle different then urs. We are trying to see if we can get tweecer to work on it. I have a ECC-IV so i may be in the clear. the probes also came with EEC-V. One of the probe owners was able to use SCT to tune his. He threw a mustang maf on and dynoed it;

pretty decent gains over stock

Do you guys know what code you have on ur ECUs?

That's definitely a decent gain. I'll go run down into the garage and grab my stock ECU to get the code for you.

Tweecer uses the J3 service port. I took my P5 to Houston and met up with the guy that produces the Tweecer, last summer. We couldn't get it to work because apparently the J3 service port (atleast on my ecu) was disabled. He said he was going to try and pick up some ecu's and probe them to see how it was disabled. The Tweecer would detect the ecu but couldn't read it.

Is that the port behind the black plastic cover? Mine is covered with some thick waterproofing stuff. If there's anything I can do here to check and see if the port is disabled with a multimeter and my stock ECU let me know.

Yes, that's it. we scrapped and cleaned that port, but were unable to read anything off the ecu.

thats weird. I thought the chip that sct sells for your car uses the J3 port.

well we hooked tweecer upto my ecu yesterday. i saved some codes. im going to email it to the tweecer guy. i did notice that when tweecer was installed and the car was turned tot eh on position the fans would kick on non-stop. it was able to read off the ecu though. well see what happens
